One of musics greats has passed away. Legendry guitarist Jeff Beck has died at the age of 78.

A member of The Yardbirds in the 1960's Beck was one of three music greats from that band, which included Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton.

Beck had an immense music career often appearing with many big name.

R.I.P. Jeff and thank you for the music.

No!!!!!!!!!!

NO!!!

Ah, shi…,!!!!

Such a different player than everyone else! His use of tremolo, bends, and volume swells is unique. Nobody can do that! He’s played with the best. According to Guitar Player, he was the Best!! (If not all other guitarists, then decades of the reader’s poll say so).

A musician’s musician. I’ve loved Beckology since the late 80s (??? Heck, I’m getting old!). And Loud Hailer is an awesome album (watch the Live in Japan version).

Every time I used to hear people make fun of Jeff Beck... I would play some for them

They stopped making fun of him...

Beck had a gift ... thank goodness he left some of it for us.

R.I.P.

You made this a better place.

For me, the name 'Jeff Beck' only ever brings to mind one song, and considering the circumstances (as well as the state of the world), it seems exceptionally appropriate to include it here:

Sad as hell to hear this, especially as he was in really good shape and seemed to take pretty good care of himself through the years.
One of the very best guitar players. In addition to his own catalog, he's played with so many people, on so many great songs. Hugely diverse, innovative, original player. I saw him live a few years back and he remained in top form to the last. Jimmy Page is really gonna miss this guy, as am I and every other muscle car and grit and grace guitar aficionado out there.

As far as uniqueness , he was the greatest. Overall, one of the top 10 that ever lived.
A true legend on par with SRV and Jimi Hendrix.

The worst day of the year so far. It could win.
The man was uncopiable. Many tried and went
worse than crazy.
Let's table production glitz and put Jeff's 'Truth'
right alongside Jimmy's Z1.
Exhibit b: 'Rice Pudding' two Plushes and a wild man.

Another great one of the greatest passes away. With the way the world of music is today, I know he's jamming in a better place. Heaven would be the only place left for those of his talent, it sucks here on Earth IMO.

The only other person I can recommend (besides a classical guitar player) is Mark Knoffler.

But that is off the top of my head…. So I may be way off base!!

What a great vault of music he left behind!!

I am listening right now!!

Of all the amazing music he left behind my favourite is amongst the simplest.

Jeff Becks live version of the classic 'Apache' left me dodging the arrows flying past my ears.

Seminal musician. Thanks.

When I saw this, I didn't want to believe it... I prayed it wasn't true.

My entire year now will be dedicated to re-listening to everything I can find of his, starting with everything I have, and finidng anything I don't have.

Thanks to whoever posted the Alice Cooper interview, but...

Does anyone know if there are any feature length documentary's about him?

R.I.P my friend I never met...

Jeff Beck's riff and general guitar work on Patient Number 9 made that song for me , beautiful.

This really sucks. I’ve been listening to him for fifty years, wore out JB Wired on 8 track. He was my favorite guitar player of all time, I even have a signature JB Strat. I was devastated yesterday after hearing this, just in total shock😢

RIP Jeff🎸
