Apparently there is a bug going around in the USA, not COVID, not flu. Symptoms are all over the place, different but similar for most people. Sore throat, some with fever, drainage, cough, some aches, some with ear pain, and some with intestinal issues. But funny thing, it's not any strain of flu and it's not COVID. But the doctors are not saying what is is, just what it isn't.

I personally know 6 people who had NOTCOVID-23. Two of my immediate family, my two in-laws, and my boss and his wife. All are vaccinated persons except my daughter who had it.

What got me was that I kept seeing people on social media saying the exact same thing about getting NOTCOVID-23.

ER? Do you really go to the ER for a bug? I never understood going to the ER for a cold type bug. What made you go to the ER vs immediate care? I usually don't even go to my doctor for a virus, just wait it out and let the immune system do it's thing. I mean antibiotics don't do squat for a virus anyways.

I tested + for my in-home wuflu test on Dec 22 and slept thru the blizzard of the century. Felt achy all over for a good 6 days with a little fever and headache off and on. Just piled on the vitamins and other placebos and made it through. So who knows what variant or whatever that was...I didn't report it to anyone.

I had it the week before Christmas, had what felt like awful indigestion and acid reflux for 4 days, it did freak me out to the point I went to the doctors to rule out anything bad. The doctor wasn't overly concerned just said there's "a bug", going round. The indigestion pain/symptoms passed to be replaced by the s#1ts for a week, dizzy spells and a head cold that lasted for 48 hrs.
Fully better now, I have no idea what it was but its the first Christmas that I've lost weight and not been drunk!
I'm in the UK btw.

Yes, when you go into a doctors office, the ER or immediate care with these symptoms, they test for the flu strains and COVID, believe it or not.

What do they do in the ER for that?

I have had 2 not-covids this winter... Got one from my wife who returned from Asia and one from my kid who returned from college. Both lasted about a week and were more chest congestion with annoying running/drippy nose. Walked around with a stupid hand towel I was dripping so much.

I've never gone to a doctor for a cold or the flu.

Christmas Eve for me too.

I'm pretty sure it's Covid though.

Do they still put you in a coma and kill you on a ventilator?

have it. for about a month now. fatigue, slightly sore throat at first, but MY EARS. never had anything with my ears before. there is some ringing sometimes, so there may be some lingering permanent effect. notCovid-23 is a strange one.

It should be considered that this was covid. It would not be surprising if we need a new test to pick it up.

I know is the flu around, my son in law had the flu the week before Christmas, but beside him nobody else that I know is sick at all.

Well whatever this is the testing for flu and COVID are not picking it up as positive. Maybe China released a new lab grade virus for the world to chew on. Monkeybirdrat-23

I don't know anyone sick right now. Neither my uninjected circle or injected circle.

Hubs and I had the local stuff. No fever or anything. It just turned me into a snot factory after about 5 sneezes one morning. After a couple days feeling like a mild head cold, I spent a three weeks blowing out/coughing up all the snot.

Never really felt sick outside inflamed sinuses.
