I see people still wearing mask when i go shopping, they look fearfull.....so the wrong perception or thought is boosted too much, to level where it can actually hurt their health.

I tend to wear a mask in public for two reasons and neither have anything to do with the virus. One, I like how a mask, sunglasses and hat almost completely obscure my identity. The other reason is that I am hoping someone puts themselves in a situation where I can break their jaw. Sadly, no takers on that yet.

Why would a useless mask relieve fear? They prevent a sick person from spreading their spit around they don’t protect anyone healthy.
Washing hands on the other hand…is very effective.
I guess ignorance is bliss for the common idiot.

Did quarantines help with Spanish flu ?
I remember seeing studys, where they do every possible trick to get the infection spread then from sick to healthy, but failed . I posted it in ATS also, but i dont remember where/date .

There may be many reasons why people choose to wear masks out in public.

Masks do help if nothing else they cut down on the viral load, which is a big deal.

No, it isn't, because no, they don't. Help that is. They only hurt. Both physically and mentally. I haven't worn one from day one, with a few rare exceptions when I had to go in somewhere, but I always took it off after entering, and only one store had idiot karens that chased me down when they saw me without one, so the best I ever gave them was wearing it over my chin and mouth, but never my nose (I'm a nose breather, so I could suffer with that indignity for a few minutes).

Well now we have anti-viral medicine and more education via trials about this and that's why the mask mandates were dropped, so there is no longer a mask issue, why drag this on?

A better question would be, why would you declare here that you are still wearing masks, state unequivocally that 'masks work', but then respond like this seemingly saying that you understand they don't and it was all a sham?

It's common sense, which may be lacking here and there. The mask has also been touted as keeping people from contracting the virus and data suggests that was the case, because influenza and RSV became almost non-existent when people first started wearing masks en masse at the beginning of the pandemic.
If a person believes the mask is a protective tool then wearing a protective tool will give the impression of being protected, thereby alleviating a fear. Not rocket science.

One should look up what it takes to be a aerospace engineer before making themself look a fool
This is ats the "it's not rocket science" statement is not a good look ... We know what it takes it's not nearly as much as you think it is
