Biden heads to St. Croix as winter blast kills dozens, cancels 10,000 flights
Wanna get away?
President Biden left the White House Tuesday night for a tropical vacation in St. Croix to ring in the New Year — as much of the country deals with extreme cold and snowfall that has killed at least 65 people and canceled 10,000 flights since Christmas Eve.
The 80-year-old commander in chief will bask in the Caribbean sun near an in-ground pool at a three-bedroom beachfront villa with sweeping views on the largest of the US Virgin Islands.
Meanwhile, travel chaos, widespread power outages and rising deaths caused by single-digit weather continue across the Midwest and East Coast, but especially in Western New York, where at least 32 people died in Buffalo’s Erie County amid more than 4 feet of snow.
It’s unclear who owns the vacation property or whether Biden will be paying for his stay, though he has a long record of staying for free at the houses of wealthy Democratic donors.

When Bush, Obama and Trump (more so) were out playing golf every other week, nobody complained that I know of.
So, which president played the most golf? Woodrow Wilson played the most golf, logging over 1200 rounds in his term. That’s about 200 rounds per year and 3.78 times a week! But other presidents played a lot of golf too, including Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Richard Nixon, William Howard Taft, and Gerald Ford.

"...cancels 10,000 flights"
Why are all these flights being cancelled? Most airports around the US are open. Here in San Diego, they've cancelled flights from Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Austin, and Oakland--all airports that are not experiencing snow. Yet flights from Chicago, New York, and Boston are on time.
Is this part of the planned implosion of our economy?

I think we would all be better off if he just stayed in St. Croix without a computer or phone for the rest of his presidency.

It's terribly that 60 people have died across the US because of this latest storm, and that's a terrible thing, and as 1947Boomer pointed out planes not arriving at cross-country destinations because of storms has created a bottleneck in air travel. None are within the capacity of any POTUS to fix, yet the media keeps reporting and people get all worked up.
What's really sad and news worthy, yet never gets any media attention is citizens dying across the country because they can no longer afford housing. There were 162 deaths last year in Spokane, Washington in the homeless population that were NOT drug related. Imagine how many are happening across the US!
It's never a good look for a POTUS to frolic while a there's a major crisis, even though there isn't much they can do about it but I'll save my outrage for the things happening that our POTUS does have some control over yet chooses to ignore.
