For example, in referring to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell voting "YES" for the $1.7 Trillion Democrat-devised budget that included over $435 million for Ukraine and protecting borders of other countries, but $0 for securing our own U.S. borders. Candidate Trump says:

They must have something on McConnell, because what he is doing is unthinkable—a Democrat’s dream! Just makes no sense.
He's referring to this McConnell-bashing article: dailycaller.com...

No one really talks about the spending or even cares. They think the inflation just magically showed up.
Also, people are so polarized they’re content if their side stays in power no matter the cost. We see horrible candidates like Fetterman who is barely with us and Santos who is a complete fraud. Go talk to the left and right about those guys and they’ll defend their pick saying it’s still better while using the other example for fodder.
No one really wants accountability unless it’s focused solely at the other side.

He's too old.
He was a heavy spender, supporter of national debt, inflationary policy, gun control, and didn't fire folks behind the Covid mess when he had the capacity.
I've said it before than his base and most of the GOP really have one platform point left- immigration.
I think DeSantis is the path forward for the GOP and while I am quite conservative, I don't think he'll suit my fancy and I'll have to vote 3rd party again.
In the spring of 2020, the areas recording the greatest numbers of deaths were much more likely to vote Democratic than Republican. But by the third wave of the pandemic, which began in fall 2020, the pattern had reversed: Counties that voted for Donald Trump over Joe Biden were suffering substantially more deaths from the coronavirus pandemic than those that voted for Biden over Trump. This reversal is likely a result of several factors including differences in mitigation efforts and vaccine uptake, demographic differences, and other differences that are correlated with partisanship at the county level.
Senator Tim Scott and I worked very hard on Opportunity Zones, which have become a giant success!

Call it the tax cut that wasn't.
When the Opportunity Zone tax incentive was signed into law under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, critics were quick to label it “just another tax cut for the rich.” But on the fifth anniversary of its passage, a different picture has emerged: instead of concentrating benefits on the rich, opportunity zones are attracting investments into low-income communities across the nation.
There are over 8,700 Opportunity Zones across the country, designated by governors both Republican and Democrat, as the most economically distressed areas in their state. Under the legislation, tax benefits were granted to investors funding projects within these designated census tracts.
Since the inception of the program, these low- to moderate–income communities have attracted over an estimated $100 billion in investment capital, bringing forth new real estate development, small and large businesses, and infrastructure revitalization.

Hmm... fared better initially, most likely due to density, however that changed once the first wave went through and then when vaccines were available.

Pew Research
The Trump administration pushed back at enacting the Defense Production Act, delaying it by months, while rage Tweeting Mary Barra who was pushing for it. The administration dropped a national testing plan that was in the works because Covid was mostly affecting the blue states, pushed back at states requests for additional funding for vaccination programs.
So, because he eventually helped out states, which is his job as President during a national crisis, it is a-ok for the U.S. President to threaten states that he is the leader of with withholding assistance?
We obviously have a different opinion of how our President should respond in a national crisis and in our belief that we are one nation together and not states worthy of help based on how they vote.
