No one really talks about the spending or even cares. They think the inflation just magically showed up.

Also, people are so polarized they’re content if their side stays in power no matter the cost. We see horrible candidates like Fetterman who is barely with us and Santos who is a complete fraud. Go talk to the left and right about those guys and they’ll defend their pick saying it’s still better while using the other example for fodder.

No one really wants accountability unless it’s focused solely at the other side.

Gas prices are $2.40 here in Colorado, sweetness. They aren’t skyrocketing, they’re vpcoming down. why do you lie and take people for fools?

The question you should be asking is, WHY are they coming down, when in fact they SHOULD be skyrocketing?

RonnieJersey's comment was in the context of the next 2 years, and I guarantee you, gas prices will be skyrocketing again very, very soon...

Even WaPo and the NYT are getting this one mostly right...

From WaPo:

"Prices are going down because demand for oil and gas is falling as countries brace for recession, coronavirus outbreaks in China threaten major financial disruption and drivers cut back on gas-guzzling as they try to save money to cover skyrocketing mortgage payments and stock market losses."

and from the NYT:

"The drop in gasoline prices was led by a decline in worldwide energy demand, which drove oil prices lower.
...
The drop is a political boon for the Biden administration, which has been drawing down the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve since the spring in an effort to keep prices contained."

So do you think a president would have NOT allowed funding for COVID?

And as far as spending, again, it is Congress when it comes down to it. They just passed the almost 2 trillion dollar continuing resolution. The Omnibus? it was not for COVID. This is also not the Iraq war. They send people into harms way. 45 brokered peace and when they tried to push him he killed Irans #2.

Understand, I am not happy one bit about the COVID spending but I am more concerned and the why and who of COVID and it is just never discussed. To me, COVID was a bio attack on the world.

Thank you for your opinion and restating the facts he discussed. I mean, Red States most certainly fared better. The restrictions were ridiculous that were placed on people.

I mean, to be very honest, the Federal Government a year ago was threatening people with their jobs if they were not vaxxed.

Any vax talk today? Nope. The media is more concerned with Trumps tax returns.

I also cannot find one actual instance of him denying ANY state help. Not once.

They must have something on McConnell, because what he is doing is unthinkable—a Democrat’s dream! Just makes no sense.

He's referring to this McConnell-bashing article: dailycaller.com...

Did you and he both miss the $2 billion budget increase that Biden wants for increased security for an expected migrant surge?

If you don't watch policy blogs, it's kind of easy to miss (and believe me, the policy blogs are boring)

Roughly half of America voted in 2020, so there's maybe 50 million tribal Americans (not to be confused with Indigenous Americans) and another 100 million who voted for a turd sandwich with cheese and ketchup over a plain turd sandwich. 150 million whose job is incentive, so the other 150 million play by the rules written in the blood of our immigrant ancestors by the 1% who exploited those ancestors. If we weren't busy pissing in each others cheerios like we're bloods and crips, or israelis and palestinians, or left twix and right twix, we could leverage that incentive.

That is a red herring. With the absence of verifiable facts about the 2 million Title42 turnaways in 2 years as claimed by The DHS, it's a pretty good bet they've NOT been turning away anybody, instead letting them in unaccounted for. The Title42 thing is a ruse and red herring. They'll be letting them in the same as they've been doing 😎

He's too old.

He was a heavy spender, supporter of national debt, inflationary policy, gun control, and didn't fire folks behind the Covid mess when he had the capacity.

I've said it before than his base and most of the GOP really have one platform point left- immigration.

I think DeSantis is the path forward for the GOP and while I am quite conservative, I don't think he'll suit my fancy and I'll have to vote 3rd party again.

Spot on ☺️

I find it utterly bizarre when people suggest "he dun did it in 2016 so he'll do it again hyuck hyuck". It shows a complete and utter failure to understand how this whole thing works. Cryin' donnie has lost the moderates and undecideds. People were willing to take a chance in 2016 who won't be now. This isn't a left vs right argument - it's simple common sense.

Trump is done. His petulant, emotionally unhinged, angry midnight rants (which this thread nicely highlights, and is why this post is on topic and won't be 1A'd ☺️) just show how emotionally thin-skinned he is. This is dangerous for a leader as people like that are more open to being manipulated (e.g. Being taken in by Kim Jong Un and exchanging tons of "love letters").

America needs a strong, confident, resilient leader. Not another old man ranting into cyberspace.

The dembs would like nothing more than for trump to get back on twitter and post more on truth Social, communicate and split the GOP right down the middle. trumps adoption of more Qanon tripe, like consulting Nancy Reagans spiritual adviser won't keep the far right evangelicals on his side. The Jews have bailed with his friendship with anti-Semites "Ye" and Nick Fuentes.

The Rinos gain more power with every twitter and GTTR; so the question is....Do they have enough power to get Desantis the nom.

Hmm... fared better initially, most likely due to density, however that changed once the first wave went through and then when vaccines were available.

In the spring of 2020, the areas recording the greatest numbers of deaths were much more likely to vote Democratic than Republican. But by the third wave of the pandemic, which began in fall 2020, the pattern had reversed: Counties that voted for Donald Trump over Joe Biden were suffering substantially more deaths from the coronavirus pandemic than those that voted for Biden over Trump. This reversal is likely a result of several factors including differences in mitigation efforts and vaccine uptake, demographic differences, and other differences that are correlated with partisanship at the county level.

Pew Research

The Trump administration pushed back at enacting the Defense Production Act, delaying it by months, while rage Tweeting Mary Barra who was pushing for it. The administration dropped a national testing plan that was in the works because Covid was mostly affecting the blue states, pushed back at states requests for additional funding for vaccination programs.

So, because he eventually helped out states, which is his job as President during a national crisis, it is a-ok for the U.S. President to threaten states that he is the leader of with withholding assistance?

We obviously have a different opinion of how our President should respond in a national crisis and in our belief that we are one nation together and not states worthy of help based on how they vote.

Candidate Donald Trump takes notice of how "Opportunity Zones" continue to flourish and be appreciated in Urban areas of the country.

Senator Tim Scott and I worked very hard on Opportunity Zones, which have become a giant success!

December 27, 2022: truthsocial.com...

Call it the tax cut that wasn't.

When the Opportunity Zone tax incentive was signed into law under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, critics were quick to label it “just another tax cut for the rich.” But on the fifth anniversary of its passage, a different picture has emerged: instead of concentrating benefits on the rich, opportunity zones are attracting investments into low-income communities across the nation.

There are over 8,700 Opportunity Zones across the country, designated by governors both Republican and Democrat, as the most economically distressed areas in their state. Under the legislation, tax benefits were granted to investors funding projects within these designated census tracts.

Since the inception of the program, these low- to moderate–income communities have attracted over an estimated $100 billion in investment capital, bringing forth new real estate development, small and large businesses, and infrastructure revitalization.

BTW...Joe/Jill Biden left for at least a 7-day Holiday Vacation in the Carribean today. Most news media thought he left last week, LOL.

So why, I wonder, are more cases of COVID in Vaxxed People than unvaxxed ? 🤡

And is there any actual proof The Trump administration pushed back at enacting the Defense Production Act?

There's plenty of examples of using it after initial resistance by opposing "opinions" 🤡

Trump's approval rating is declining to below 40 percent. All he will accomplish is splitting the Republican party and sealing a win for the Democrats who will likely nominate Biden or a female candidate. When he loses will he instigate another insurrection to attack the Capital building?

I have read that he can still campaign for US President from his jail cell.

It’s more than a whoopsies.

We all know the detriment of overreaction in the past. No way I just find understanding because he’s “our guy”.

9/11 was reality shaking. I can empathize on how someone could take our response too far. But that doesn’t mean I want them back.

My posting history shows I was favorable to Trump in 16-18. I got the sense it wasn’t what I was sold then, but 2020 was a firm validation that he wasn’t what this country needed.

I lean libertarian. Spending is my focus. He messed that up harder than any president in my lifetime.

One off if if you’d like. But if you want to beat the left, I suggest you take note of the independents who are done with him. That’s not even the red flag, it’s the right divided on him that should make it apparent he’s the worst thing for the party at this time.

Y’all had a good run. It will be better if it remains in the past. Trying to revive it will just bring embarrassment.

Exactly. He gets very defensive and attacks anyone who speaks up against his hypocrisy, but his voters don't seem to see how he literally caused many of them to get sick and die.
