Definitely the best Christmas movie I've seen in a while.

Pretty funny, good violence, and even hits you in the feels a few times.

My son gave the same recommendation yesterday.
Getting away from the wife (who thinks it sounds stupid) to watch it is gonna be a problem...but nothing a couple extra vodka tonics can't take care of.

Now I know what Bruce Willis might have looked like if he'd bothered to wear the Santa costume while preparing to surprise his wife. Wife beater Santa crawling through air ducts with a revolver tucked in each boot and a cigar between his teeth, how does someone say no to that?

Me and my girlfriend watched it last night. I thought it was hilarious but she thought it was gross. i did catch her laughing a few times though. I guess there is finally a new contender to Die Hard for best Christmas movie ever.

Definitely a Christmas Classic.

Enjoyed it immensely.

My brother and I took my son for his 16th birthday with 16 of his friends the second night it was in theaters around here. That was a lot of fun. I’d say it’s up there with Gremlins as a great irreverent Christmas movie!

IT IS DIE HARD

The plot is very literally ripped from a combination of parts of Die Hard 1 and 2

... Except with Santa Claus

I won't detail the similarities with spoilers, but they should be noticeable to anyone who watches

I still think Krampus (IMDB video link) is a better Christmas movie, but I enjoyed "Violent Night"

It is good. But it is not even close to being as good as Die Hard

There are very few movies in history, Christmas movie or not, that come even close to the original Die Hard

It is an enigma, near impossible to be replicated. Everyone has tried. Nobody has succeeded

I think the similar basis for the plot has you confused
