me, as I am a passenger in our local police car on a Friday and Saturday nights for foriegners in trouble. first stage is friendly, then the conditions are harse . Don't come here if you want to comitte a crime. The prisons here for foreigners are very harsh and some die here in prison.

A mate of mine did 10 years in a Japanese jail - I won't go into what for.
On his first day he was given a menu and asked what he wanted to eat, he chose chicken and rice; he had chicken and rice for every meal every single day he was in there....he was convinced the chicken wasn't actually chicken but something rather less palatable to 'western' tastes.

He told me it was hard, but not as brutal as some places.

Japan is top of my bucket list of places I want to visit but I have no desire at all to gain first hand experience of their prison system - or anyone's for that matter.

For me: never committed a crime in my life.

I use Cannabis.

Well look at Thailand - Good God if they catch you.

Now legally sold in shops.
