Hello i'm a new member from NC

I live in central NC. been a long time lurker here. i have always been interested in the paranormal enjoy the topics on this board. I've seen a few UFO's myself here in central NC.

On a side note, i'm not sure if it's because i'm a new member or if the site is just designed this way. but it's very difficult to start a new thread here. the only way i could find to create this thread was to click on someone elses thread and then click the link to start my own. that's not very intuitive lol.

As a new member, the usual way is to get at least 20 posts in on other threads, then you can start your own.
I'd like to hear about the sightings, especially if you have pics.

Welcome. I think you have to have 10 to 20 posts before you can create a thread outside of the New Member forum. I've seen a UFO as well, about 40 yards away from me and my mom in 1988. When my mom and I got home and she watched it stop just over the tree line across the street from our home, she got out of the vehicle and ran to my side, where I'd gotten out and was standing there staring at it. She told me to get in the house as fast as I could and I remember not feeling any step I took, nor hearing any normal sounds I'd hear at night on the outskirts of the small country town we lived in. What was your experience?

Welcome aboard... In the forums top right there is a plus sign, but only a few forums allow new threads when still under 20 posts...
Check out the acronym thread to get that post count up quickly...

Well, this was about 6 years ago. i was at my house in central NC, and it was i guess around 8pm so it was dark outside. i was walking down the stairs of my sun porch which sits pretty high off the ground and overlooks a small valley in my neighborhood. so i kind of have a pretty good view looking over everyones house behind me. As i started down the stairs i saw three solid white round lights in the sky, and they were just sitting there not moving. looked to be a few miles away but when looking at things that high up it's hard to tell, i looked at them a few minutes and thought well maybe it's orion or some other start constellation. i don't stargaze much so i didn't think much of it. so i went on down the stairs to do my laundry and when i came back up the stairs i turned and looked at the sky to get another look and notice one of the white lights had moved away from the others... so i kept watching, and after a few minutes the other two started moving away slowly and in diffierent directions. i thought well. maybe it's some helicopters although i've never seen 3 at a time and i do not live near any military bases. but what i saw next was just unbleievable. the 2 objects on the left stopped moving completely and the one remaining on the right suddenly "zipped" what appeared to be hundreds of feet away in a mere second and then came to a complete and abrupt stop. at that point it was no longer a question that i had just saw something that could not have come from this planet. i don't know of any aircraft capable of a manuvere like that. i continued to watch the objects a few more minutes until they gradually faded away into the distance. i actually reported this to some UFO reportings site back then but can't remember the name of it. Was and is still the wierdest thing i've ever seen in the sky.

We live down the road outside of Columbia South Carolina. Were on Lake Murray and see many UFO's as I have videoed some. Some others wont let you film them.

[1]We have the huge lumbering white UFO's
[2]We have the [5] color pulsating-flashing blue, red, green, white and yellow UFO's. These guys can go 100's of miles in a second and can zig zag. Robert Lazar filmed something similar in 1989 near Area 51.
[3]We have the orange color lumbering pulsating-flashing UFO's

All of the above seem to head towards Hartwell, Georgia region and then go up into space. I filed reports on MUFON. NUFORC and The Black Vault. Other ATS members here also have filmed them. A retired USA General of Fort Jackson wrote that they are over Lake Murray.

Welcome and I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

As for starting a new thread, yes, I believe you have to first select a topic from the 'forums' tab at the top of the screen, then within there is the 'new' thread, but don't take my word for it I have only started one thread because I don't have the time or inclination to babysit many threads.

once you get 20 posts behind you (I think) you can do whatever you like. The site is fairly easy to navigate, and the old threads are some gold mines of info. We have had some spectacular minds pass through here. The one's that weren't so spectacular stayed.

Enjoy and stay warm in the next few days. Protect your pipes. We in NC don't see these temps often, and we usually react rather than reinforce. And reacting when it's stupid cold just isn't any fun. be safe!

Uploading Pictures unto Post-2013 ATS, Serving up member's pictures and snapshots since the retooling of ATS back in 2013, and here's a little secret on your Picture uploads. Always make sure they 'end' with one of these three formats; jpg, gif, png... (a jpeg needs to be changed to .jpg to be accepted as only 3 letter formats are accepted).

There's a lot of great spots to explore and share your comments in. Being this large it's safe to say that not everyone is going to agree with what you might say. And actually that's a good thing as this allows all voices, theories and ideas to come out for discussion.

Welcome NCSky, thanks for sharing that story. I've also seen UFOs a handful of times, one such time it was also 3 orbs (but more of a light purple color), they were at low altitude and actually went right over my back yard extremely quickly and dead silent - my wife and our friend were all just like "WTF are those!" and I also reported it to MUFON. Wild stuff!

Thanks for the info. I'm running into a lot of problems on my end though. Your image hosting site seems to have an expeired cert and most browsers will block the url if the cert isn't valid so it's pretty much impossible for anyone to set a new avatar until that's fixed.

Websites prove their identity via certificates, which are valid for a set time period. The certificate for img.abovetopsecret.com expired on 8/14/2022.

Also a few of the links in your post lead nowhere. it seems they are defucnt or been removed. The link to "http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/memcenter.php?" just leads to an empty page for me.

I'm not trying to be mean or knock the site. it's a great place. just maybe you can pass this info along to the site admins to they can look into some of it.

Just disable all of your browser security and that will fix everything!

Images 👈 you should, quote, "should" be able to upload images here. That's the first step. Not sure about the background pic thing and security issues though.

I do my own packet filtering so I don't have to trust websites, but I'm sure it's fine...teehee
