If I were to stage an Alien Invasion

If I were an alien, I would love to show up in certain peoples houses in the middle of the night and stand at the foot of their bed just staring at them until they woke up and saw me looking at them, stoic with absolutely no emotion....just standing there stock still, very defiantly giving them the middle finger.

Then I'd zap them back to sleep but let them retain the memory of the encounter, and then enlist my Cosmic Bretheren to perform similiar visitations to certain people across the planet.

Just show up and give them the finger.

The I'd sit back at home and read all the news reports on the internet about the rash of alien encounters with one inexplicable thing in common...the entire Galactic Community think they're assholes.

I think it's pretty much a spot on 70% metaphorical explanation for what's currently going on.

That's not quite an invasion, FWIW it's pretty much it's just a close encounter of the third kind, and even that is marginally so.

Not to speak for Peeple but I think I know what they mean. It’s basically every abduction story beginning, the abductee wakes up with a Grey in the room looking at them.
Except for the middle finger, that is usually a probe.

Metaphorical means basically 'like that but different' that a different image, or cultural code, is in play to describe the hard-to-grasp underlying true nature of the matter at hand.

Apologies, I get the alien probing metaphor, just thought it had a broader meaning.

In my opinion it's getting harder to ignore the magnitude of 'alien'* communication and manipulation in our current world.
And it is indeed happening individually in the quiet times alone.
A mind attack, the psychological pandemic.

*without even actually being certain how foreign aliens would really be. If we can be certain it's not humans after all.

Thanks for the explanation your posts are always thought-provoking, thought there was more to this than just a good ole alien anal probing story. Not that I don't enjoy a good alien anal probe story.

This reminds me of a character in 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". They were immortal but not born that way, it happened in a accident.

They became bord with life after a few thousand years and decided to make for themselvef a purpose to it all. They proceeded to insult every being in the known universe in person, one at a time, in alphabetical order.

It was not much of a purpose but it was a purpose. They kept going at the insults hoping that the course their ship took from star system to star system, when viewed from the right direction, would spell out a very dirty insult.

That or you just want to be a teaser.

Teaser: A being that lands in an isolated area of a non spacefaring planet, then walks around in front of some local being that no one will believe their story, and make beep beep noises at them then leave.

If I was an Alien wanting to colonize Earth I would probably go the easy route. Being I would get a Dinosaur killer Asteroid and equip it with a set of motors. Fly it to Earth and smack it with the rock. Let the explosion sterilize the surface of all those annoying humans and the natural flora and fauna. Wait for the planet to stabilize after the impact and return roughly to normal.

Then search for and destroy any survivors. Unless you want to keep a few for a zoo. Then start the terraforming process for the flora and fauna from your home planet. Several hundred years later the terraforming is complete and colonization is mostly complete..

End of story.

I don't think that approach is very fun. No pew, pew, boom.

Just land and make the humans an offer they can't refuse. 'Join us and see the universe. It is free and fun'. Doesn't matter if you are seeking servants, soldiers or food. Many will be eager to board.

The aliens don't need to invade. They walk among us and have been here for millennia even before proto humans came down from the trees.

Keep in mind "the others" can can shape shift and masquerade as your pets or that neighbor with the strange haircut and fat wife.

The to serve Man approach? Then there's the release the engineered virus approach that sterilizes the humans and it becomes ready to colonize around 60 years later. Oh wait.....
