Jorge Urrea from gangs to NASA

We just released an incredibly inspiring interview we did with a man named Jorge Urrea.

Jorge grew up in a Broken a home.
He ended up looking to the streets for something he wasn’t finding at home.
By the time he was a teenager, he was getting in trouble and part of a gang.

Jorge was on a path of destruction. From hurting people, doing drugs, and inflicting pain on the people around him.
Him and his brother went on a trip to Vegas. But a chance meeting with a rival gang ended the boys weekend short.
His brother lost his life and Jorge was bleeding out in a gas station parking lot after being shot 5 times.

He lived though. And like many people, he allowed his pride to dictate his actions.
It wasn’t long before SWAT was in his home on a no knock warrant, and bringing him in for attempted murder.
Thinking his life was over, and prison was all he would know for the rest of his days, something incredible happened.

Someone came and spoke to Jorge and told him, to start living better, or God was going to take one of his children.
When he went to tell his fellow inmates, the person who talked to him so deeply, was gone.

Maybe it was a hallucination. Or his sub-conscience tellin him to change his ways. Maybe it really was a Prophet sent for some divine intervention.
Either way, it changed his life.
Using a public defender, he beat his case. One day he’s looking at 22 years in prison.
The next day, he’s on the outside again and He wasn’t throwing this second chance away.

A turn of events, had him pulling up to NASA’s JPL starting his new job as a team lead.
He’s instructing people with PhDs and University educations, meanwhile, he has face tattoos an doesn’t even have his High school diploma.

Life certainly took a turn.
