Feditary versus Tripidions

The Feditary is the short name for the Federal Military of Outer Space. The Feditary patrols space outside the Sun solar system and (sooner rather than) later, outside the Milky Way Galaxy.

I have created over 50 spaceships for the Feditary. In the Feditary, all branches of the military have been combined into one. There is no Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, or Space Force. You are either in the Feditary or you are not.

The Feditary has gone bonkers with their ranking system for personal. There are many, many different ranks, each group divided into super-ranks. Currency is called credits and the area you live in is called your coin. The higher your rank, the more credits you earn and the larger your assigned coin will be.

The story takes place mainly in the 37th century (3600-3699). While humanity has managed to survive a number of world wars, including two nuclear wars, and has managed to exist long-term in outer space, it's continued existence in space is very much day-to-day.

Below is a hypothetical timeline.

4 Billion BC - (estimated time) Earth and Mars are seeded for what would eventually evolve into intelligent life. It is unknown if the seeding was done by a race of beings that were interstellar or divine. Earth continued to evolve but at a reduced evolutionary speed of about 20% of Mars. The two planets never had contact with each other, however, the fact that we are aware of this information proves some kind of entity was aware of life on both planets.

3 Billion BC - World war on Mars destroyed all life on that planet. A small number of survivors fled to the southernmost region of Earth.

3,000 BC - Aliens from outside the Sun solar system arrive on Earth and teach human beings how to build pyramids. They declare themselves Gods. It is unknown if they seeded Earth or if they simply demanded to be worshipped. They left when the last pyramid was built. It is not known if they ever returned.

1914-1919 - World War One. (Great War) Chemical weapons and planes are used to kill over 1 million people.

1939-1945 - World War Two. (Second World War) Atomic weapons, jets, missiles, and radar are used to kill 70 million to 85 million people.

1950 - Crude robots are invented.

1956 - The earliest form of Artificial Intelligence is created.

1957 - An alien spacecraft crash lands on Earth. Some believe this event actually happened in 1947. Regardless, the country it crashed in advises the world it was a weather balloon. While few people believed that lie, the host nation stuck with that lie for almost 100 years before finally coming clean in the mid-2050s.

1958 - A country on Earth creates an agency called the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Their first goal was to send a man into space. The agency is the first of its kind. Oddly, an agency from a rival country would put a man in space before NASA in the near future. It is believed the rival nation used spies to acquire technological knowledge from the crashed spaceship found on Earth in 1957 or 1947.

1961 - A human being blasted into space on a crude rocket for the first time. It is believed a rival nation used spies to gather intelligence from the spacecraft that crashed in another country. This rival nation used the stolen intelligence to send the first Earthing into space.

1962 - The only two nations on Earth with atomic weapons almost go to war. In the year 2115, both nations reveal they both tried to launch their atomic weapons against the other. Neither nation was successful. It is unknown if this was due to a computer or mechanical error by both sides, interstellar involvement, or divine intervention. The belief is that had this war taken place, (as it did on Mars,) all life on Earth would have ceased to exist.

1969 - A human being walked on the Moon for the first time. This was achieved due to the technology acquired from the spacecraft that crashed in its country in 1957.

1991-2021 - World War Three (War on Terror) Computer wars, restrict wages, over-govern humanity into submission. 90% of global income is earned by 10% of the world. This is the only world war where power was more important than killing people. Less than 1 million people die in this war however, there is no official number. By this time, virtually all of humanity was enslaved by low wages and taxation.

1992 - Holographic Automated Logic (HAL) is created secretly and placed on ships managed by NASA. The program is declared a complete failure as there is a total loss of life on every ship it is placed on. The Ultra Secret program is not revealed until the year 2362 when it is replaced with a far superior program.

2003 - A very crude Android is created.

2021-2100 - World War Four (Nuclear War One) Food and beverages are used as weapons to depopulate Earth. World War Five (Nuclear War Two) Weather manipulation is used as a weapon. Nuclear attacks were executed by both sides during both Nuclear Wars. The exact dates of the beginning and end of these two wars are not known. It is possible the end of one overlapped the beginning of the other. It is also possible both of these wars were actually the same one. Over 4 billion people are killed during this time.

2063 - In the middle of a nuclear holocaust, a small spacecraft from Earth achieves light speed, attracting an alien race to make contact with Earth the very next day. Seeing the turmoil the Earth is in due to ongoing nuclear conflict, the alien race advises they will return if humanity can overcome the catastrophe it has created. As a parting gift, the alien race presents Earth with a book that explains the history of Earth and Mars during Earth's "BC" era. The book contained the history of both planets for the last 4 billion years, minus the most recent 2,000 years. The aliens promised they would return when the Earth settles its global differences however, the aliens never returned.

2100-2862 - 762 years(?) without a world war or interstellar war (start date is estimated). There is some debate that this timeframe is actually 2100-3213, resulting in 1,113 years of peace until a global conflict affected the Earth. The Feditary was first attacked by the Tripidions in 2862, 351 years before the destruction of Earth, resulting in the two differing dates.

2112 - Earth One transmits One Light across the solar system as a means of communication. One Light is capable of storing more data than any laser beam in history.

2200-2500 - Humanity establishes multiple space stations around Earth, its Moon, and Mars as well as strategic points in the inner portion of the Sun solar system. Space stations are created as an economic way to transport people and supplies to and from primary stations. Multiple bases are established on the Moon and Mars. Space stations are planned for the solar system's middle and outer planets. The first of these stations was originally planned for 2021 however, additional world wars delayed their production dates. It is theorized that crude bases were built between 2021-2100 however, these bases, if they ever existed, would have been doomed to fail in a catastrophic way once Earth was consumed by WWIV, resulting in a total loss of human life at these locations due to the interruption of cargo ships.

2209 - The United Continents of Earth create the Space Force to expand humanity across the Sun solar system. Numb from all the world wars, they pledge not to allow weapons on any of these ships.

2281 - The Space Force discovers Hyperlight and uses it to replace One Light as a more efficient means of communication across the Sun solar system. Hyperlight has the ability to transmit information faster than the speed of light via multiple beams of condensed nanoscopic lasers.

2362 - The Space Force creates ALICE (Artificial Logic Interface Condenser Equilibrium) to replace the long-shelved HAL. ALICE is far more successful than its predecessor.

2491 - A man claims to have traveled through time to 2491 from 1987. Due to all of the destruction which took place during the nuclear wars, it is impossible to verify his story. His ship appeared very old and did not have any warp-speed capability. The technology on the ship is in fact about 500 years old. There is no record of his birth so it is impossible to verify his story. While he insists he traveled forward in time, he cannot explain how. This event goes down in history as the biggest mystery of the entire millennia. It is never resolved. The event causes the Space Force to begin pure research in time travel theory.

2500-2700 - Humanity establishes multiple space stations around the middle and outer planets. The Sun solar system is fully patrolled by Earth's Space Force however, none of the ships have military capabilities as agreed upon by the United Continents of Earth to promote peace across the entire solar system. This is a decision the Earth would later regret.

2561 - The Space Force creates the first reliable force shield that is able to be deployed around a spaceship.

2567 - By using excess energy from the force shield engines and electromagnets powered by a quad nuclear fusion core element, artificial gravity is created.

2642 - The Space Force discovers Zero Light, the ability to transmit enormous amounts of data via a condensed stream of laser beams no wider than a single atom.

2700-2862 - Earth begins sending ships on one-way trips out of the solar system. These fleets of ships are referred to as Federal Military ships or Feditary ships (sometimes also referred to as the Federal Military of Outer Space or F-MOS). Unsure of what they might encounter, these ships are equipped with the most advanced weapons known to humanity at that time. Multiple Earth-class planets are settled during this time. It is also during this timeframe that Earth begins to be referred to as Earth One due to the colonization of Earth-class planets outside the Sun solar system.

2791 - The Feditary discovers Anti-Light, non-emitting light created by the radioactivity of the illumination of positive light. Non-emitting, anti-light particles exert energy only detectable on a subatomic level at a rate that can only be described as thousands of times faster than the speed of one light. It is theorized that anti-light vibrates so quickly, it may exist in a physical form in multiple places at the same time. The Feditary uses Anti-Light in their research into time travel however, their attempts to travel through time are unsuccessful beyond the effects of traveling at light speed.

2799 - The Sun solar system converts its communications technology to Anti-Light.

2862 - The Feditary encounters a Tripidion ship for the first time. While attempting to make contact with it, the front-line fleet of Feditary ships is attacked and destroyed. Support ships quickly leave the area however, the Tripidions catch up to every one of these and destroy them all. Earth One declares war on the Tripidions and orders all Feditary ships to pursue and destroy them. This order is impossible to carry out because the Feditary lacks the technology to defeat the Tripidions in a ship-to-ship battle. While the declaration of war appeases the population in the Sun Solar System, distrust and disdain increase throughout the Feditary toward their fatherland, Earth One. Despite their orders from Earth One, the Feditary avoids contact with the Tripidions whenever possible as a means of survival.

2982 - The vast majority of Earth-class colony planets fall to the Tripidions so the Feditary declares living on a planet illegal. Out of fear of encountering a Tripidion ship, there is no plan to rescue colonists already on planets however, all future plans to colonize other worlds are immediately ceased, permanently. In a shocking development, the Tripidions blow up every single planet in every solar system where they find even one human being. It is believed this action is taken due to the Feditary's efficient ability to mine resources from discovered planets. Another theory is that the Tripidions are simply that brutal. The fact that the Tripidions have the capability to blow up entire planets is terrifying to everyone within the Feditary, on Earth One, and across the colonies. The Feditary attempts to make peace with the Tripidions but the Tripidions disregard all attempts to communicate. The Feditary has been unable to have a single conversation with the Tripidions, even during their first encounter, and decided that communication may not be possible, even if the Tripidions were willing to discuss terms. The Feditary believes negotiation may be a concept the Tripidions do not comprehend. Given the lopsided Tripidion victories against the Feditary, Tripidions seem more interested in killing for sport or entertainment as opposed to executing any sort of military strategy. Tripidions seem to regard human beings in the same way humans would regard an insect. The fact that Tripidion technology seems to be over 1,000 years ahead of Feditary technology is clear in every confrontation. Given these developments and Earth One's constant demands that the Feditary goes on suicide missions against the Tripidions, the Feditary declares independence from Earth One. Earth One denies independence to the Feditary however, they have no way to enforce their ruling.

3073 - The Feditary begins research on Negative Light. The Feditary theorizes this technology however, they are unsure if it is real. They don't know it but the Tripidions have been using Negative Light technology for centuries as a sole means of communication. This is why the Feditary is unable to establish communication with the Tripidions. The Feditary is not able to figure out Negative Light theory.

3116 - Earth One declares the Feditary "unwelcome" and "hostile" to planet-based humanity. The Feditary retaliates by declaring any Feditary-born human being is barred from walking on any planet in the universe unless they are following direct orders from the Lord super-ranks of the Feditary. They encourage Earth One to evacuate the Sun solar system and embrace a ship-based lifestyle while they still can. To protect Earth One and out of fear for their own lives, the Feditary does not consider assisting in the evacuation of the Sun solar system. Further, neither side wants a scenario where the Tripidions follow the Feditary to the Sun solar system because both sides know what the end result would be. Earth One is unfamiliar with "Lord Super-Ranks" and requests the Feditary explain what the term means.

3123 - After researching the Feditary's previously unknown "Lord Super-Ranks", Earth One declares the Feditary an illegal religious cult as well as a rogue military entity. The Feditary reminds Earth One that Earth One is incapable of challenging the Feditary on a strategic level. The Feditary declares the entire Milky Way Galaxy a no-go zone. The Feditary advises Earth One that any ship encountered from Earth One outside the Milky Way Galaxy will be considered hostile and said ships will be destroyed without regard for their classification (military or civilian). Earth One realizes that evacuating the Milky Way Galaxy is no longer an option. Out of a newfound fear of both the Feditary and the continuing Tripidion nemesis, Earth One does not even attempt to evacuate the Sun solar system. Earth One decides that the best course of action for them is to keep the lowest intergalactic profile possible, so they remain put in the Sun solar system. Fear begins to consume hope throughout the entire Sun solar system. "Welcome to our space," a member of the Feditary's Lord super ranks taunts Earth One.

3213 - The Feditary receives an intelligence report from a stealth probe that Earth One has been destroyed by at least one stealth ship 351 years after the Tripidions achieved their first Feditary kill. Based on the Tripidions history of attacking human-occupied solar systems, it is assumed every planet in the Sun solar system was also destroyed. The Feditary advises every ship of this development. While it is widely assumed the Tripidions are responsible, there is no evidence of who or what lead to the demise of Earth One. Rumors of a Feditary conspiracy against Earth One quickly spread across the ships. As a result, the Feditary declares conspiracy theories against it illegal in an attempt to control already wavering morale. The Feditary also requires all of its citizens to worship their interstellar Lord, Tac. While humanity had created stealth technology in the 1900s, it was assumed, up until the year 3213, that the Tripidions did not have or did not foresee a reason to use stealth technology. With many people in the Feditary unsatisfied with the explanation about Earth One as well as their new religious mandate, a small group of people formed an illegal organization which quickly grows into a serious internal problem for the Feditary. The Feditary calls them "Rebels". The Rebels are determined to grow in numbers, steal supplies, steal small ships and attempt to live a secluded life on a planet (any accommodating planet); away from both a fast-devolving Feditary and the relentless Tripidions. The Feditary institutes a policy of executing all rebels, no matter their age or reasoning. This is regarded as the Feditary's darkest hour however, the war would become increasingly darker for the Feditary for the next few hundred years. Humanity was beginning to openly worry about becoming extinct.

3649 - The Feditary discovers a ghost ship they call the Cannonizer. It is unknown where the ship came from or why it is without a crew. The Cannonizer is designed to shoot a laser that has a one-kilometer diameter. The laser is designed to expand as it shoots through space, making it almost impossible to miss anything directly in front of the Cannonizer. It appears to be comparable to the Tripidions ship that is capable of destroying entire planets however, the Cannonizer seems far more advanced. The ship is easy to operate and reverse engineer. While the ship sports a very fast warp drive, it also seems to have some sort of trans-dimensional capability. Even so, the trans-dimensional drive seems to have been purposely disabled. Further, technology related to the trans-dimensional drive differs significantly from the technology on the rest of the ship. Because of this determination, the Feditary believes whatever used to be in control of this ship may have acquired the trans-dimensional drive from another intelligent species. The Feditary firmly believes this is not a Tripidion ship. This is most certainly a ship of war and it seems to have been left behind as a gift to either the Feditary or the Tripidions. Aside from the disabled trans-dimensional drive, the "Cannonizer" appears to be in great condition. The Feditary begins reverse-engineering research on it immediately.

3650 - Using the Cannonizer, the Feditary gain their very first victory against the Tripidions, ending a streak of losing and running from them every single time for 788 consecutive years. It is clear the Tripdions are shocked by this development because they quickly retreat for the first time in the 788-year war. With the Feditary losing ships faster than we can build them and losing people faster than we can reproduce, it is clear the war is about to take a fast turn in our favor. Until now, the Feditary had reached its darkest hour with extinction certain within the next few hundred years. The Feditary begins construction of copycat ships so they can pursue and destroy the Tripidions in mass and with the same heartless brutality, the Tripidions have practiced since the first battle. The Feditary quickly decides that they will not allow the Tripidions to surrender. We will hunt for their home planet and destroy it and every other planet we find the Tripidions occupying. Praise be to our Lord Tac for this miraculous ship and a quick victory against the three-legged, three-armed scum of the universe. Death to the Tripidions by the great grace of our Lord Tac.

3813 - Tripidia, the homeworld of the Tripidions located in a solar system with three stars, is destroyed along with the other two planets in the solar system.

4287 - The Feditary has a final encounter with a Tripidion ship and the lone ship is quickly destroyed, ending a war that lasted 1,425 years. While the Feditary waited precisely 100 years to declare the war over, they had no way of knowing in the year 4287 if that was the last Tripidion ship or not. If there are any Tripidion ships that still exist, it appears they have had enough of the most powerful force in the universe, the Feditary.

4387 - The Feditary declares war with the Tripidions over after not having contact with them for exactly 100 years. Bored with peace for the last 100 years, the Feditary has spent this time assimilating or extinguishing all life encountered that is more primitive. No life form has been discovered that is more advanced. The Rebel voice for a return to a plant-based lifestyle grows louder however, the Feditary refuses. This action causes the Rebels to give the Feditary a new name, the Dark Side. To celebrate its declared victory over the Tripidions, the Feditary orders all of its spaceships to travel at light speed to cover the distance of one million light-years, a feat never before attempted. While they meet this goal with success (with the exception of about 15% of the entire fleet which is never heard from again and assumed destroyed by the stress), they determine they have arrived at a time a long time ago in a galaxy far away from the one they left. What happens now is up to our great Lord Tac.

This seems like it would be a good candidate for one. Kind of like Warhammer 40k

I am working on a theoretical Research Tree. It should be done in a few days but I will have to change the name of a number of things (and their research values) to avoid copyright issues.

Next up would be the type of ship hulls available for building. Nanoships, Microships, Small, Medium, Large, Capitol Ships, HQ Ship (only 1), World Ship

Hulls take a long time to build and when building a certain-sized hull for the first time, it will take a ton of research points for that first build. If the Tripidions find your shipyard before you are done building your ship, they will destroy both.

You now have to start over and all of your research for that technology may have been lost as well.

You do not beat the Tripidions. You hold them back until you can warp away. Your losses to them will be massive.

You must locate and reverse engineer the Cannonizer to beat the Tripidions. If you can not find the Cannonizer, you will not beat the Tripidions.
