Can you explain how that works? Is that a layer 2 , layer 3 or layer 8 type of tracing that determined they were contacting China?

I have no clue how the tracing works. The forensic auditors saw China IP address history in the router(s). There was no follow-up that I'm aware of.

That's why the router data from the machines was so hard to get from the gov agency that refused to release it until a court order forced it, but that gave them enough time to manipulate the data ☠️
