Yes but now there's thousands of alarms that will be going off in this situation as power is being restored.
Cut power and hope the authorities go scrambling to find that one legit break in.

These events have been going on since roughly 2006 and Jade Helm. These acts of “Vandalism” as it were are not a bunch of rednecks deciding to shut down the power, as they all have their trailer parks to get back to.
No, this was a military op and I can break it down as to why I think it is.
The way the gate was breached. They knocked down the post with the hinges to the gate. This is a tactical move to keep anyone from shutting them in, should either law enforcement or any other agency be fast enough to catch them unaware. The deliberate and precise targeting, of the area, also speaks to a skill set that was trained and practiced. While we do have plenty of veterans who know their craft, they like many others are patriots and are not going to make their fellow Americans suffer without power during winter.
So on top of that, you have how the media is handling it. Notice they are not talking terrorism. Anyone in their right mind would see this as terrorism and not the local inbreeds having a go at the power grid. Also notice how quickly they brought up the Anti Drag Protests, white supremacy, and are now pitching new gun legislation to keep high power assault weapons out of the hands of the law abiding.
I have seen enough to know when my government or its agents are at work.
A criminal or a group of criminals would of course be smart enough to realize that every bank has a back up supply in place. Unless they know the banks that don’t. Usually bank robbery would make headline news when it is substantial. Such as to give a special ops team walking around money for a foreign job they are about to do off the books.
The idea that this is militia or some other separatist group is what the government uses to put fear into the hearts and minds of the sheeple so they’ll bleat for more legislation. Notice how nobody has been arrested? We have people who get arrested within 24 hours of a car accident. You’re going to tell me that the power stations have no cameras to monitor anything? Traffic cameras? The only reason why you haven’t had some band of hillbillies arrested is because they were likely riding around in a Deuce and a half, and drove it back to base.

Story about the source of the drag show theory:
www.wral.com...
Moore County, North Carolina, has declared a state of emergency as power outages continue after a "deliberate" attack over the weekend in which gunfire damaged two substations. The attack left roughly 45,000 people without power in North Carolina.
Under the state of emergency, a curfew is in place from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night, and residents of the county are encouraged to conserve fuel.
Jeff Brooks, a spokesman for Duke Energy, said Monday that the company had restored power to about 7,000 customers. About 38,000 remain without power, and Brooks said that it's likely full restoration won't happen until Wednesday or Thursday. In a press release shared earlier in the day, Duke Energy general manager Jason Hollifield said "the damage is beyond repair in some areas."
"That leaves us with no option but to replace large pieces of equipment — which is not an easy or quick task," said Hollifield said.
In a press conference held Sunday afternoon, Fields said that the damage had been caused by gunfire. Fields said that the scene was the same at both sites, calling the attacks "targeted" and carried by a person or persons who "knew exactly what they were doing."
In January, a bulletin from the Department of Homeland Security, obtained by CBS News, warned that domestic violent extremists "have developed credible, specific plans to attack electricity infrastructure since at least 2020, identifying the electric grid as a particularly attractive target." But DHS has not issued any statement connecting the current situation in Moore County to extremism.

I heard about this when I woke up this morning but was waiting for more info before I came here with it.
The "vandalism" was synchronized and coincided with a drag storytime event. While I haven't seen any official confirmation, apparently what authorities mean when they say vandalized is that the substations were shot up.
At the time the blackout occurred a woman with ties to J6 was tweeting things that made it sound like she knew about the attacks and that the purpose was to disrupt the drag event. She was visited by law enforcement but didn't tell them anything.
I've also heard that two gun shops were looted and possibly a Walmart.
This is definitely one to keep an eye on. At least one of the perpetrators had knowledge of the electrical grid as they knew that they would need to take out multiple substations to cause an outage.
