Royal Racism Row - Susan Hussey and Ngozi Fulani

British members are likely aware of this story but the background is Ngozi Fulani runs a charity for women and girls of African and Caribbean heritage who are domestic abuse sufferers , she was invited to Buckingham Palace for a bit of a get together when during the event Ms Fulani spoke to the Queens former Lady in Waiting Lady Susan Hussey who probably intrigued by Fulani's atire asked her where she was from , Fulani is reported to have recorded the conversation and this is her transcript.

Lady SH: Where are you from?

Me: Sistah Space.

SH: No, where do you come from?

Me: We're based in Hackney.

SH: No, what part of Africa are you from?

Me: I don't know, they didn't leave any records.

SH: Well, you must know where you're from, I spent time in France. Where are you from?

Me: Here, the UK.

SH: No, but what nationality are you?

Me: I am born here and am British.

SH: No, but where do you really come from, where do your people come from?

Me: 'My people', lady, what is this?

SH: Oh I can see I am going to have a challenge getting you to say where you're from. When did you first come here?

Me: Lady! I am a British national, my parents came here in the 50s when...

SH: Oh, I knew we'd get there in the end, you're Caribbean!

Me: No lady, I am of African heritage, Caribbean descent and British nationality.

SH: Oh so you're from...

Lady Susan Hussey has since been thrown under the bus by the press , her Godson Prince William and the Palace as she has had to resign after decades of service , quite a shameful affair as to me it smells of a set up.

Ms Fulani also rebuffed suggestions that Lady Hussey's remarks had anything to do with her age.

"Let us be clear what this is. I've heard so many suggestions it's about her age and stuff like that, and I think that's kind of a disrespect - an ageism kind of thing.

"I have to really question how this can happen in a space that's supposed to protect women against all kinds of violence.

"Although it's not physical violence - it is an abuse."

Ms Fulani continued: "If you invite people to an event, against domestic abuse, and there are people there from different demographics, I don't see the relevance of whether I'm British or not British.

"I'm very proud of my African heritage. This is like the Windrush thing to me. You're trying to make me unwelcome in my own space."

She added she felt like she was being asked to "denounce my British citizenship".

For a representative diplomatic fund raiser for a cause, abused Caribbean women, she could have easily handled and deescalated the situation by simply answering the out of touch old royal lady's question. Her parents immigrated from Barbados. You'd think this woman would know her way around elite, out of touch racial ignorance, and wouldn't immediately call it racism, if she was truly interested in raising money for her cause. But she's really after her own 15 minutes of victimization fame.

I was just reading about this. There's lots of blame to go around, but I think I'm most disgusted at how the media has totally blown this out of proportion.... and made sure it overshadowed every report on Wills' Earthshot awards ceremony.

I want to give Mrs Faluni the benefit of the doubt, and assume that she wants to embrace her ancestry and heritage for all the best reasons. But Mrs Faluni seems to be rather ignorant about her personal history, and represents a somewhat generic Afro-Carribean persona.

On the other hand, apparently Dame(?) Hussey has been to Africa many times, has been educated about the various tribes and customs, and asked with genuine interest. She is also hard-of-hearing and may have prompted her repetitive questions.

I've only just recently learned that people of color in Britain take it as racist to be asked about their ethnicity or heritage, and think it demeans/denies their British creds.

It's kinda strange for me to wrap my head around. We already know that most of us came from elsewhere originally. We're just as inclined to ask about previous states they've lived. It doesn't mean what Mrs Faluni thinks it means... but I get it's a sore spot for her.

I watched the Scottish guys video earlier today. The bit that really made me chuckle was when he referred to her attire, saying there was more Leopard print than a scouse hen night!

Having seen Marlene Headley’s (real name) Previous tweets supporting Meghan Markle, I too get the impression this was a set up from the start. I have seen a lot of comments too from Africans slamming her behavior and questioning her attire.

This current band of dysfunctional parasitic royals would be more at home on the Jeremy Kyle show.

I'm sure Lady Hussey has asked that same question many a time in the past, whilst serving under our late Queen.
I feel for her and the way she has been treated, which unfortunately, by some weird twist, makes Charles and William look guilty as charged by Meghan by their complete knee jerk reactions...... "Oh, yes, we must support the black lady..... because she's black, and we can't be seen to be racist"........ over an octogenarian, who served mother and grandmother, whom one of them has known all his life!

A woman who believes the Royal family are racist and runs a racially exclusive charity for abused women with funding links to BLM tapes a conversation with a member of the Royal household and claims racism , everybody takes the claims as read blows them all out of proportion and the long serving member of the household loses her position.

If you run a charity specifically for African and Caribbean women and have a name like a Ngozi Fulani it is more than reasonable to assume you don’t trace your lineage back to the Anglo Saxon invasion of Britain and beyond.

Seeing as we’re all so inclusive and empathetic these days, where’s the understanding of an 80 something year old making a perfectly reasonable enquiry - albeit not with the vocabulary modern sensitivities demand?

It’s disgusting to me how people these days are on the edge of their chairs 24x7 waiting to pounce on and maul anyone they perceive of crossing a line that they themselves imposed and most people can’t see.

Anybody who EVER asks me, "So what's your ethnic background" had better.... sit down and have plenty of coffee, because there's SO. MUCH . largely unknown regional history Imma relay that way (ever heard of the Yotvingians? The Curonians? Have fun with those search engine returns)
