PAD 2022 The Deloy meeting

The meeting was being held off world aboard one of the Deloy diplomatic research ships. A shuttle provided by the Deloy had been dispatched to Earth's Easter Island to retrieve 160 leaders and Reps of Earth's various country's fractured governmental representatives. 192 representatives had been invited to attend but 32 governments (both large and small) for various reasons, had declined to participate. As the meeting would be filmed they felt it was unnecessary to attend so most of their resources were being used to suppress the information of a meeting being held and even greater attempts were being used to block any information reaching their populations via the internet or what passed as a news broadcast in their societies.

There were attempted leaks but they were quickly silenced as the leaks were claimed to be nothing but fringe unpatriotic conspiracy nut jobs spreading misinformation who were arrested to never be seen again. Totalitarian and religious regimes did not want to let the information out to their populations that they were not the center of of the enlighten governmental rule ordained by their worshiped God's representative or their duly appointed people's committee of designed leaders. The fear was once the comforting fantasy of mankind's uniqueness in the universe was proven wrong, all hell could break lose on some closed minded earth society.

The Deloy were pleased that 160 representatives of Earth had agreed to this meeting for they knew ignorance and superstition was a universal trait among primitive sentient beings ?

As the shuttle approached the Deloy diplomatic research ship the view screens which lined the shuttle's interior showed a 3D outside view of the surrounding space and the approaching Deloy ship. As the ship came into view their were grasps of surprise by most of those who could not believe the size and beauty of this huge ship.

During their journey to the Deloy ship they had not once noticed a lack of gravity or even felt any sense of movement during the shuttles journey to a position in Sol's solar system called a Lagrange point where ships and satellites maintained a equal fixed distance from Earth; the only sense of movement had been furnished by the 3D view screens as earth rapidly receded. From the take off from Easter Island via the shuttle to the Deloy exploration and diplomatic ship the trip had taken exactly 24 earth minutes once everyone was onboard and the shuttles side opening re-materialized closed.

There was not even a slight bump as the shuttle settled down as the entire side of the shuttle had de-materialized to show the interior of the hanger bay which had 7 other shuttles of the same make and model as the one they had arrived upon already inside. There were 10 other round and 10 wedge shaped smaller ships ranging in size from an estimated 60 to 100 meters in size and width in the bay with room to spare.

There were Black, Brown, White, and Asia representatives aboard the shuttle and they each saw a being which looked like a person from their own race standing before the shuttle's now open entrance . There was only one being but each representative saw this being as someone looking like a regal someone from their own society. Everyone heard in their heads from the being speaking in a pleasant voice, in their own native language, to please exit the shuttle and follow them. The Earth people, as some became aware there was only one person standing before them were stunned at this further display of technology that was being displayed before them as it really was like magic.

All 160 Representatives exited and fell into an orderly mob to follow behind this being that was real to the eyes yet ….?

One of the earth representative was thinking to himself that at least they had not all been turned into fertilizer or some kind of food pellets but then a voice came back into his head saying, “Your paranoia, passion, and devotion is what we like about your humanoid race” at which point he tried to not think such dark thoughts.

The laws of physics and biology are the same throughout the universe yet earthlings had not even scratched the surface or the depths of what was truly possible.

P.S. The meeting was filmed but those who did not attend learned nothing as there were no spoken words for the ear to hear.

As a reader I wondered what the Deloy would deploy if we were to act coy and wanted to know about their ploy. I also liked the twist where nobody got the gist to know about a possible list (ruse).
