It's a vicious, never-ending circle.

In the 'good old days' some used to say "if I can't debunk it, then it might be true"
Try debunk something these days, even if proven it won't be accepted.

And yet I thought that to be a pretty good technique to sift through all the incoming info

All over the news today: Mr Alex Jones filed for bankruptcy.

This is not about Alex Jones, this is not about the trial and the things he said, because clearly stated in every article it says HE IS A CONSPIRACY THEORIST

Not one article is about Alex Jones as a person who did things,
it about him being a conspiracy theorist,
it's about all of us,
it's against all of us.

Alternative thinkers are often cast aside, maybe it has something to do with their inability to bond with rigid ideals. So scary... So, different.

What I mean is that the media is taking every chance they get to target the entire community and here we are fighting among each other. Mostly over things that aren't even 'conspiracy'. That is what's wrong

I stuck around, the in-fighting here drove many off. I guess what I was saying with the periodic comment is that maybe all the elements can be considered bound or unbound. ATS is a bit like a grouping of helium acting like hydrogen. Sometimes.

The Zeitgeist usually has a target and a narrative and in many ways the posts on ATS ooze of a want to join in. It's not very noble and it's certainly not helium.

Idk, I definitely have alternative thoughts on what's wrong or right. Maybe is a really good answer from a conspiracy theorist, it's not for me to say if we should ever be convinced of anything because most of us are here for the same reasons.

Lot's of ways I can try to say "once you follow the path is no longer yours" but ATS is a site it should never need saying.

What's Alex Jones and who's this media fellow?

I completely understand the point you are trying to make, but the way ATS has become it has appeared to have fallen on deaf ears. You got about 4 replies and then the blaming of one side started. You made a good effort though.

Part of the problem is the massive amounts of social media people consume. It turns into an echo chamber and an amplification device, a breeding ground for absurdly strong opinions and a bunch of people egging them on. It creates a feedback loop and gets worse and worse.
Sure, people were like that before the internet. The internet just helped fester it into something extreme. That's part of why people have such a hard time discussing things with those they disagree with.

Then you have CNN, FOX, and those other 3 and 4 letter brainwash agencies using powerful rhetoric to stoke the raging flames even further.

Then the social media adds another log to the fire.

Repeat, repeat, kaboom.

Exactly (even though I'm not religious), live and let live. Something the 'left' hates. They are interfering into every day things too much, while I just want to be left alone. This interference continues into government overreach, which is just constricting on freedoms---> eventually 'socialism' ----> eventually communism

An unfortunate side effect of "twitter syndrome" (my pet label for it) is the compulsion to take 30 seconds worth of data and form a conclusion. You can typically pinpoint 5 sentences in any studio broadcast which is a direct instruction to the audience based on roughly 15-20 seconds of armchair observation, depending on the length of the segment. And the audience turns around and imitates it. Our attention span is equivalent to a TikTok video and that's not coincidence so the less time you have to present an argument or review the actual math, the less influence you have. Either you can meme or you have no ammunition to respond with.
