Why do rich people eat fast food? But I like to eat at home, clean and hygienic

Just last Friday I went to treat myself at A&W and got an Uncle Bacon Cheddar Burger combo and was charged $17.85 for it.
I remember back in the mid 80's my dad complaining it cost $20.00 to feed the whole family of six. When in high school a Big Mac combo was $4.50 back in the late 90's.

I won't be treating myself as much in the future as it would seem.

yep... two uncle burgers, and one order of fries... not even a combo... $28 and change

prices are nonsense these days

The double protein burrito is 10.95, from what I'm seeing on their website. I'd grab a water cup and skip the chips myself. It is a few dollars more than when I got them a few years ago however.

I think you are on to something. I stopped eating fast food as much recently and making food at home because of the prices.

I don't like the burrito, I only like the bowl and that’s it, and I like to use the chips to scoop.
Im the kind of person that would rather not eat than eat something I don’t want to.

About the water.. Well that’s complicated. The wounded child in me always wants a “flavored” drink when I eat out because as a child we were never allowed to have it. I know that’s a weird reason, and I only drink water at home. When I do eat out, I enjoy something different. As silly as it sounds, it is what it is. I have my suspicions that is why Gen X is so addicted to Soda.

"People who...."
Can't cook very well or never take the proper time to cook....
Are really lazy....
Are not concerned about what they put in their bodies....
Have kids that dictate where you eat instead of training them about good food....

Since I NEVER go to McDonald's, I never get a McRib. That works out fine by me. I can make my own ribs at home with my own barbecue sauce that I make with my very own recipe.

I got game in the kitchen.

That’s quite the assumption.

I cook very well, so much so people have begged me to become a chef.
Lazy… that’s funny too, most people that know me tell me to relax.

I think most people are concerned about what they put in their bodies but at the same time, moderation.
I’m not going to be one of those people that never eats a piece of chocolate, or a sweet, or gasp… Chipotle because I’m hungry when I’m out.
That is not indicative of me being lazy, or unhealthy, or a bad cook.
Actually if you watch any foodie shows you’ll see that MANY world famous chefs have their favorite “guilty pleasure.”

Chipotle;

Where they attempt to give you 75% rice in a burrito when you pay for double protein.

Some of the whitest mexican food on planet.

That is probably why I love it, being Asian Rice=Life
I love the huge portion of rice, smaller portions of everything else. The meat is used mostly as a side/flavoring. That is very similar to how we eat.
Also I think Asians digest rice differently.

It wasn’t always that pricey, I was shocked too!
I guess it has reached my threshold for how much I’m willing to spend on it.

That sounds interesting.
Not a super fan of organ meat, but I’d be willing to try it.

Thats when you be at work and you order the double protein double wrapped with guac...

You have to remember I’m in WISCONSIN.. Chipotle is as close to authentic as I can get and I totally understand that it isn’t even authentic.

My first week in Wisconsin I went to a taco joint. I kid you not, the taco was a shell filled with pot roast, NO seasoning just grease/gravy. It was awful! Even the other “fancy” Mexican restaurants are catering to the bland palate of the people here. Basically bland meat with a TON of cheese. Sure I like cheese, but the people here are a little sick on the amount of cheese they eat.
