So here's a hypothetical question I thought I'd put forth:

If you know someone is an absolute sh#t disturbing moron, like, let's say a family member, should you have to entertain the political baggage that they bring into conversations that are by no means political?

Here's a scenario:

You bring up a news article at breakfast that is about clowns riding a bike while juggling, but because the person you are speaking to is still pissed that they continue to lose logical arguments, especially about politics, they will revert back to those arguments, over and over, instead of talking about the clowns in the article?

Ever run into this hypothetical scenario?

It's like being forced to play with your weirdo cousin that picks his nose and eats crayons and lead paint chips and wants all your toys....He just won't play in the sand-box with the other kids...

Also a rant about morons and clowns...might even apply to online forums I guess...

You need to be more specific.

Slava Kanada

And no, I wouldn't tolerate it.

Some people talk because they have something to say; others talk because they have to say something.

I have an inlaw like you describe; not only is she constantly monopolizing all conversations, she lives to argue. There isn't a single subject in the world she can't argue about....and she's the most sensitive, anal-retentive person I have ever met, taking offense at perceived imaginary slight. Disagree with her will put you on her hate list forever.

Last I checked, she doesn't have a Canadian twin; maybe a doppelganger?

You nailed it, that's exactly the type I'm talking about.

We have LOT'S here in Canada, maybe SHE is a Canadian's doppelganger? Muahaha

This woman could run rings around AOC. She does it for fun, not because she's stupid but because she mean. Unhappy to the nth degree mean.

I see where my error is.....

I work with a guy like this. He can do no wrong and knows all there is to know about everything on the planet.
He thinks he is hot poop on a silver platter, but he is nothing but cold diarrhea on a paper plate.

Ah, my problematic coworker. She cloaks hers in a meek demeanor and is passive aggressive to boot.

Swear to gawd she's the living embodiment of crazy cat lady. I mean she literally has a collection of 13 to 15 year old cats and one is always on intensive medical care or needing to be put down. She is also a literal Karen in all senses.

She also knows everything, and even when you know, she's pretty sure you don't, even if she doesn't know herself.

I spend half my mornings just planning work flow around her. I'd have blown up at her by now, but she's also a metastatic breast cancer patient, so I'm pretty sure that wouldn't go down well.

Haven't spoken to my younger (50 years old) brother in over 3 years. He simply CANNOT have a discussion on anything without bringing his politics into the discussion. Want to talk about your car? ORANGE MAN! Maybe chat about a new guitar you bought? ORANGE MAN! Hey, how is your wife doing? REEEE ORANGE MAN!

Meanwhile, the POS wished me sickness and death for not getting the jab. There's plenty more stories about what a piece of garbage he is, but I simply don't care enough about him to even give a damn.

Eliminate these thieves of joy from your life, you will be much happier.

Entertaining Morons

and that is exactly what they are- until they are gone and you find out it was normally something more to do with them than it was to do with you...

Good rant though!

But sometimes you just gotta love people no matter how annoying they can be to themselves and others - especially if blood and believe me that is no easy task at times in this arena - even cut em out but watch over them if need be but never turn back on family even the absolute b*stards they need the love the most

Yeah they might cut you down but if you love them - you can take it - pick a line and don't let it be crossed I reckon

PS: I was just reading your horoscope for this week in the papers...

Yes, I had an old college acquaintance do that to us.

He had it out with my husband over vaccines, and despite the fact that both of us had our first two doses for different reasons, he flipped out on me after finding out we did not plan on getting our then 11-year-old vaxxed. We saw no need for a physically active boy under 12 who may or may not have inherited a mild congenital heart defect from his father.

He wished openly that one of us would get it and the rest would have to watch that one die horribly from it.

That episode drove the nation insane, and people like that deserve no amnesty for how they acted.
