It sounds honorable, but the power of elections rests with the states, the Federal government isn't supposed to be involved. Each state has their own election rules.

In part its not the federal govts place to do anything, its the purview of the states. (my understanding)

In the main why would you redact, duck, dodge and dive to try to get away from a plan that only has to do with getting more people to vote unless you were planning something that might violate state law at a minimum. Odds are as others mentioned they plan to let the illegals vote.

Which "citizens" are they giving the opportunity to? Immigrants. But getting information and meddling in the election process should be against the law.

It was much more than just an "ATTEMPT" wasn't it. They actually conspired against specific targets and diminished First Amendment Rights and at the same time They abused the Constitution and abused The First Amendment !!

Big thing to remember the left lost its mind of Georgia's new voter ID law, to date in early voting they have smashed every voting record across the board (all ethnicities) for the state.

This was a law the biden administration sued calling it the return of jim crow era laws, at this point I take anything they say in regards to voting with a pound of salt.

Typically (mileage may vary state to state) voter id laws do not suppress any vote from legal citizens because every state has ways for legal citizens to get ID. its the 10-15 million illegals that the left wants to vote thats a problem (and why they want to ban voter ID and cleaning the voter registration rolls) at least thats my opinion .

I genuinely try my best not to comment on the internal affairs of other countries - obviously I fail sometimes. My motivations are to try and understand. As such I sometimes ask questions that some then assume I have a certain viewpoint or take on things - sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

Thank you for taking the time to try and help me understand.

But I've got to say; how anyone could even attempt to justify allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote in electing any government official - Federal or Local - is quite frankly beyond me.

How are they registering people (or non people) to vote?

Is ID required? Is there anyone checking to see if the "voter registration" is valid or do we have another ACORN situation here registering cartoon characters and dogs to vote / get an absentee or mail in ballot?

Me to, I have a cousin (big time college education) that thinks anyone living here should be legally allowed to vote.

I called her an idiot, and pointed out if I had tried to vote while living in germany at best I get a wrist slap and told to leave, at worst I would be in jail.

We'll have to see if NEW YORK officials obey a ruling handed down from a state Judge today.

A New York judge has dealt a major blow to Democratic advocates of widespread mail-in voting.

In a Monday ruling, Saratoga County Supreme Court Justice Dianne Freestone, a Republican, said that voting by mail over the fear of COVID-19 violates the state’s constitution. She wrote that the Democrat-controlled New York legislature “appears poised to continue the expanded absentee voting provisions of New York State Election Law … in an Orwellian perpetual state of health emergency and cloaked in the veneer of ‘voter enfranchisement.'”

Her 28-page ruling ordered local election boards to cease counting absentee ballots that they have already received and to “preserve” them until after the Nov. 8 midterm election date or until another lawsuit filed by state Republicans is resolved. Notably, her ruling does not invalidate ballots that local boards have already received.

The U.S. Department of Justice is hiding records about Biden’s order telling federal agencies to develop plans to interfere in state election administration.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is slow-walking its response to a federal court order mandating that the agency forfeit records pertaining to President Joe Biden’s March 2021 executive order that directed federal agencies to develop plans for federal interference in state election administration.

On Thursday evening, the agency filed a motion for summary judgment with the Fort Myers Division of the U.S. Middle District Court of Florida in an attempt to conceal communication records related to Executive Order 14019, which required all federal departments to “consider ways to expand citizens’ opportunities to register to vote and to obtain information about, and participate in, the electoral process.”

In law, “summary judgment” is a decision issued by a court based on statements and evidence for one party against another without going to a full trial.
