Hi ATS. Long time no thread.
I have been doing my usual sky-watching over the last several months and I've seen tons of these strange pinpoint flashes. They are the size of a bright star, they last about an eighth of a second, and are either bright white or slightly blue in color. Some of them have a double-flash like a camera flash. They do not typically repeat, it is a singular point of light that flashes once and that is it. I have, however, seen multiple of these in one sitting several minutes apart and in different parts of the sky.

I've been seeing these almost every few nights for at least a few months, looking mainly west in the sky. They are at all different altitudes and positions in the field of view I have from my back porch.
Now, I've seen tumbling space junk/satellites, iridium flares, etc etc and these are nothing like them. Also the flash does not have a curve to it (i.e. getting brighter then dimmer), it is a solid on/off flash, no brightening or dimming through, like a camera flash.
I've seen other people talking about them on a few other astronomy and conspiracy sites, so I know I am not the only one seeing them.

I move a lot, I never saw these in any other states I've lived in. I've been skywatching for at least a decade. I'm a pilot and I know what airplanes look like at night (well, now, I better!), these have absolutely nothing to do with airplanes... not "normal" ones, at least. Currently, I'm living in an extremely mountainous region of the eastern US in a very isolated small town, we are under no military operations areas on the charts, however that does not discount the idea of military activity.

Does anyone know of a drone known to flash a single point of brilliantly bright light? These things are brighter than Sirius or any recognizable bright celestial body. I heard about the satellite project "Light Cube" but I don't even think it's been launched yet? And other people on "the net" reported seeing these as far as a few years ago.

I have considered the possibility of cosmic rays, but they are too bright and the duration of the flash is a touch too long, at least I think.
This fellow here captured them, these are about like what I have seen. The comments are interesting if you click through to youtube.

En"light"en me as to what you may think they are.

They look like iridium satellite flashes to me.

Here's a couple.

Pretty close. Could be. My problem with that explanation is the double flashes, which I can't find a video of.

They seem to happen in all parts of the sky several minutes apart, I'd say at least one out of 10 of the flashes is one of the double "flashflash" (I saw one at 8:16 PM ET last night that was two flashes, each ~1/10th of a second long in the same spot within about a quarter of a second), I've seen that type about three times. That's why I'm thinking drone at least for the doublers, it's very "on off" with no brightening or dimming like the iridium (which I've seen many times).

Here's a discussion on backyard astronomy I just found: www.backyardastronomy.net...

I have been puzzled by these flashes as well. Iridium flares last much longer and the satellite can usually be seen moving across the sky. The flashes are all by themselves. My friends neighbor is an astronomy professor and I’m hoping to get a chance to talk to him about these mysterious flashes of light

another commenter:

This bests illustrates what I’ve seen with one exception. I don’t see them as tightly grouped. Like if I were to hold up, say, a Pringles can with the bottom out of it, they’d happen roughly in that space. However, I’ve seen this and also have seen one or two stragglers well outside that can ring. I also saw 2 on the western horizon a dusk one time. Very brigh and very quick But this, what you’ve captured? That’s a great representation of the flash phenomena as seen by my eyes.

This is a timely thread.

I have also recently noticed these flashes in the night sky. Particularly ones that flash MULTIPLE TIMES.

I have seen something flash in the sky just as you mentioned, but when I view the spot in the sky where the flash was, sometimes there are more. I have seen a couple of times, four flashes in regular timing of about 2-3 seconds interval...then nothing as if it was never there in the first place.

Satellites don't blink like this, aeroplanes have more obvious lighting, but what would flash for a short time and then stop?

There's wierd stuff going on up there we will never be privvy to.

Yeah, multiple times, like this guy who caught one every 13 seconds:

I believe at least some of the single flashes are satellite related, but often I can't find one in that position on my satellite tracker thingamabob, sometimes I can, but usually no. And never for the double flashers. It's like some guy in a plane flying with all of his lights off, then he decides all at once, "hey, I'm gonna turn my strobe on for one (1) double-strobe flash! Then turn it back off... immediately!"

That object ain’t no satellite. It’s stationary.

Yes, the lights I see are not satellites, they do not change location or have a direction like normal ones but stay in the same place.

In this particular video…..Unidentified Light flashing in the Sky……

Of all the streaking lights and stationery flashing lights……I think a great litmus test for strange lights in the night sky would be trajectory angular changes, in it’s travel.

Otherwise the streaking lights could be meteorites as they pass or hit our atmosphere ……..the stationary lights could be geosynchronous satellites that spin in place and has shiny sides that’s interpreted as a flashing light from viewing from earths surface ….but is actually the Sun reflections…..the other side would be non-reflective..or so small in reflections, it’s not noticeable from a distance of the viewer.

Imo

I thought about a rotating object too when I saw the stationary flasher.

Still no clues about the double flashers I've seen. I will attempt to get a video one of these nights. If I can, I will put it up for analysis. I have a friend who worked in the sat industry in the military for decades who might be able to tell us a little more.

I've seen quite a few tumbling satellites and these just don't look quite the same in person. Hard to capture on video, all flashes look almost the same I guess, but these are really sudden, ON/OFF like an LED light. On for about an eighth to a quarter of a second, then just off. Doesn't look like the kind of flash of something rotating really.

The flashes are precursors to UFO visitation............. No lightning sounds, just the flashes. No idea whatsoever on the how, why, what etc, yet from experience when those flashes happen there will be ufo orbs on the scene

Yeah seeing the animation of the rotating satellite and watching other videos of iridium glints debunks that theory entirely, the lights have no"brighter and darker" curve like that, it's like someone turns a light on for 1/8 to 1/4 of a second and off, it doesn't have a glint look to it at all.

So I guess that kills satellites. Definitely a different light behavior. Interesting.

ETA: This same guy caught one on an overcast night. I swear the ones I see last a tad longer but the video is low quality so hard to say.

I still think some of this is drone-related in some cases. We have a lot of those cursed things up there
Some good satellite glint videos in real time:

So who or what are the orbs? Some have ideas that I've became aware of. Something to do with star children, ancient souls/spirits and coming here for a big old reunion or something.

Apparently the flashes are going to become peak around the end of the month, it's all very new-agey... Or maybe it's timeless 😈

Just an angle, it's ATS after all

I’ve also seen these, I noticed one flash four times way brighter than anything in the sky and then nothing. The same night I witnessed other flashes in different locations too. There was also satellites, meteors and some other phenomena similar to satellites except they would suddenly appear and then disappear as if going behind a cloud or something but the sky was perfectly clear.

I’ve seen the flashes whatever they are on one other occasion too from a different location, before 2020 I have never seen anything like this. I’m at a loss for an explanation.

Good question Ray and I have no certain answer.

What we can confirm is below..................

They come in various different sizes. From golf ball size all the way to cow size. Others have seen them bigger.

They come in many colours. Whites types are probably the most common. Followed by amber orange types. Then lesser seen yellow, red, blue, silver, black, pink.

Some orbs, this is quite rare amongst them, have like heiroglyphics carved into their bodies, almost like a tattoo. Maybe it means something to them.

An orb can duplicate the flashes of your communicator (flash light) as a sequence copying what you do by blinking on and off.

Orbs can fade in and out of view, they have a literal gas valve or something similar, whereby they can be very bright or fade out if needed almost to invisible, to full on fade out invisiblity, which in itself raises the question are they around us all the time.

They can appear to be having fun, like chasing each other, or playing tag, especially when they are not aware of your presence.

Many travel in pairs. Some are singles. They can gather together and form clusters that replicate corn on the cob, these are always same coloured orbs.

The reds have the ability to shine a search light that can appear to be scanning the ground, sometimes quite frantically. When they aim at the horizon or sky the beam replicates a light house beam.

Amber orange types can morph (this is amazing and so thought provoking) into other shapes, like body builders dumbells, makes one wonder if they can take on the form of anything!!!!!!!!!

There is a special white type that will appear to be emitting a mass of sparks and molten metal, almost like an angle grinder discharge on metal, totally amazing. Think some call it simply ball lightning............. Erm, it's a bit more than that! This white type will then stop the discharge and change into a whiter than white holier than holy blinding white light like nuclear flash and then drift towards you and float past your eyes. Totally mental.

Orbs can congregate to form a circle above your heads, various different colours yet in pairs, maybe 24 in a perfect circle all equally apart.

They like water ways , rivers, lakes, etc. Also they like limestone areas, also hill country.

They seem to like what we call ley lines, energy grids, found all over Planet Earth. They will particularly congregate on energy hubs where many ley lines meet at single points.

They are connected at sightings to a radiant white mothership, like say 747 in size yet in shape a slab of insanely bright white light. This ship roars like an animal as it flies over you, almost like that of an elephant x 100 and as it departs and races off a very fine candy floss substance descends from the heavens and rains down below.

I saw a half dozen flashes like this over a 3 minute period from the exact same spot overhead in a remote location some 15 years ago, with another witness present. Wrote an account of it on a thread here a way back, still no clue to what I witnessed.

Wonderful thought provoking post, orbs alone are a fascinatingly varied and wildly difficult phenomena to pin in their own right. You give a good description of how varied it can be

People on ATS have saw flashes for a while and it seems some have linked it with other phenomena.

That's the question isn't it? Is it all linked? I've shared a few of my experiences with ATS and I do love history, and culture, it does all feel a bit samey but different.

Ssdd? Not same stuff different day, same stuff different dimensions?

It does seem like tribes, nations, cultures and even religions clash at the same proverbial watering holes, the same cross roads and the same land marks. The one's 'the orbs' seemingly love.

I can't say what it's all about with any absolution, why would I want to anyways... The obvious conclusion is violence, I might as well join the hippies and seek the higher love innit?

That's assuming there's a supernatural proponent to all this. I did throw that bone out there though! Maybe they're just lights in the sky with no reason at all.
