This Kid probably saved a whole lot of people

A fifth grade teacher has been arrested after telling one of her students that she had made a "kill list" with students she taught and her colleagues.
At approximately 12:45 p.m. a 5th grade student told his/her Counselor that their 5th grade teacher made comments to him/her about killing herself, students, and staff at St. Stanislaus School," East Chicago Police Department said in a statement released on social media. "The teacher further told the student that she has a list and that he/she was on the bottom of that list."

Thank GOD this child had the wherewithal to report this. This doesn't seem like a joke.
This is something that isn't often discussed.

Schools are like prisons now, what if the enemy is inside?

This just hurts my heart. That 5th grader needs to get the biggest reward possible, make an example out of him, give him a scholarship, a new phone, praise his parents!

Why didn't they call the cops ? They weren't notified till 4 hours later !
She could have went home, got a weapon and came back. smh.

You should have read the article.

School officials said the teacher was immediately escorted to the principal's office to discuss the disturbing incident and subsequently admitted to them that she did make those statements to the student and also confirmed that she had a "kill list."

If it is how the news report claims, then it just seems like a fellow human being struggling with extreme mental health issues.

She should have been instantly relieved of her duties as a school teacher (obviously), but then offered some kind of support to deal with her mental health issues.

But now the police are involved, she’s just going to get arrested, charged and sent to prison… which will just do more damage than good.

Student safety comes before anyones mental health breakdown.
We can’t take these incidents lightly, we’ve seen the outcome too many times.
Arrest first, mental health help later.

We might want to rethink that whole, "Let's give teachers guns" idea.

Should catch a bullet honestly. Metal health is never a good enough excuse to me. In fact it only increases the desire that they should be permanently removed from society by what ever mean are handy at the time. Can’t hold your mind together in this crap world?

Yeah well, that’s always been the approach in most places around the world, especially the US.

Law and order above all else… we’ve all seen first hand how that mentality works as well.

But you know, just keep doing the same thing over and over again… then scratch your head and wonder why it didn’t work this time.

Sounds like she never grew out of the Sh!tlist phase of High School.

They were common as a way to vent before Columbine happened and everyone got serious about things like that.

I never had one myself, but loved the song.



Glad this kid said something.

That woman is an adult and needs a better coping skill.

Maybe it is me but usually I can find these things pretty easily. I seem to be getting tons of false positives.

Yet another reason to homeschool your kids.

Yeah, it's pretty abusive.

Kids should be forced to stay in an abusive environment full of bullies, both students and staff alike. Kids should be forced to sit in overcrowded classrooms where they are not given the time they need. Kids should leave their homes every day with the threat and fear of a school shooter over their head every day. Kids should not have the academic flexibility to learn, whether they're ahead or behind, challenged or gifted, or any other circumstances; everyone knows that kids learn best in a rigid environment that teaches to the answers of the standardized tests and nothing further. Kids should just be taught what is on the curriculum, not allowed to explore and research on their own or attempt to learn anything beyond what they need to know.

Parents should not be allowed to voice any concerns or raise any criticisms in their children's educations. Parents should not have any say in what religions are or are not taught in the school. Parents should understand that children need to have a woke agenda forced upon them for the greater good. Parents should not want to be able to teach their children wherever they are, be it at home, on the road, or just out in the world. Parents should not be allowed to teach their children real life skills that are not taught in schools (cursive, banking, farming, and more).

I can't believe why anyone would make that choice for their children either.

And she is likely a member of protected LGBTABCDINSANE+ group....

I wonder if the working environment is so hostile that it caused this particular teacher to snap. I work at a school as custodian, an elementary, the working environment seems good, but what do I really know as I work after school hours.

The teachers and staff I interact with seem OK, if anything I could be considered a loose cannon. I am responsible for security on my shift, making sure windows and doors are properly closed and locked. I do this after the building is mostly vacated by after school activities, but maybe some of the teachers and staff I don't really know are ready to snap. Maybe some teacher I get along with has a list, one I hope I'm not on. Makes me think and more paranoid (like I need that).

Oh wait give her an award my bad. Can’t even distinguish between the worth of a mentally ill teacher versus the risk to her students and society.

Oh it was society’s fault for not supporter her enough and the kids…well they were mean and well it’s about being adjusted really ……and and ….

Your views on how the “the rest of world” works versus the west is quite telling. Literally from South America, Asia, Middle East and African they would have prescribed her the treatment I suggested post haste.

Only in the west do we even consider debating the merits of her existence.
