The RINO/Hawk Senator Marco Rubio is demanding sanctions like a bully in the school yard because.

Algeria is making decisions as a independent & sovereign nation.

US congressmen call for sanctions against Algeria

Republican Lisa McClain is leading a group of members of Congress calling on the US government to impose sanctions against Algeria for its purchase of Russian arms. This demand is based on the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), passed by Congress in August 2017. Republican Senator Marco Rubio has also recently alluded to this law to approve a package of sanctions against Algeria for its military ties with Moscow.

Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA)
The enemies included are Iran, North Korea, and Russia.

This law was signed by Trump.

He is protecting US national interests via our influence.

He’s also helping further defund Russia, now on the basis of arms exports or military assistance.

We live in a global community - and that is more-less undeniable with what’s happening regarding energy.

NATO does not want Russia to propagate further.

This is another step that direction.

Pretty straight forward.

NATO does not want Russia to propagate further.

No NATO/US want a World War. Where they want to see Russia and Russians destroyed as a whole nation that is clear. With this conflict in Ukraine.

He is protecting US national interests

Indeed the US national security interests which is about US dominance of the world making sure that there no one to challenge the US order.

We live in a global community

In a Global Community which the US is currently bullying other countries to agree on their terms or else face sanctions one way or the other.

In a Global community which currently dominates through occupation.

We are already in WW3. It just happens to look different than you may have thought it would.

To your second point, yes, you’re largely right it’s about challenge of the world order. I actually think it’s more about NATO and an interest in moving to a bipolar world in terms of dominance. Russia makes it a quasi-tri-polar world. So I’d argue it’s more about broader western dominance than solely US.

You call it occupation.

I’d call it extending our influence in a mutually beneficial way.

We put in a military base somewhere, we build infrastructure. We bring roads, economic activity, etc. to places that don’t have them. We provide protection and raise the standard of living (if allowed) relative to what many counties would otherwise organically experience.

That isn’t just the US.

That’s NATO, and the US happens to be the largest member by miles militarily. The US is embedded through NATO countries - we are the glue that holds it all together because, due to our presence, the probability of member states going to war with one another or not working together is pretty low. We have to work together because if we don’t we’ll all get run by China or a China/Russia consortium.

So, yeah, I guess we’re “dominating through occupation” to ensure our NATO partners - and us - remain OK.

Yay, America.
