It looks like you're using an Ad Blocker.

Please white-list or disable AboveTopSecret.com in your ad-blocking tool.

Thank you.

Some features of ATS will be disabled while you continue to use an ad-blocker.

We all feel the same way.

I very rarely truly complain about anything. But today I am full of rage!
My rage comes from a source that every single person on this earth will agree is evil.

I am talking about the god damn ads that are everywhere!
Doesn't matter how long you've been sitting staring at that stupide spinning wheel. Doesn't matter how bad your internet is the ads always load.
Never have to wait on them. And I'm still expected to pay up for that every month.

On top of that the conspiracy behind it is so obvious that it infuriates me that it's not talked about here and on other conspiracy sites every day.

The internet providers are throttling the web to the benefit of the ad companies.

What can be done about that?

Ad blockers. A decent external firewall. I think Firewalla has the best product for residential users. You can connect it to your router and manage from your cell phone. I am sure there are many similar products in the firewall realm.

I think it's time you start to investigate the idea of "do you ever 'really' get a free lunch"?
Hint, the answer is no.

If you go to a site and you weren't asked to buy a product, you are the product. Don't like it? as said, spend some time and a bit of money on some hardware and software. You got to serve somebody.

You can use an extra pc with dual network cards and a piece of software called Untangle firewall. They have a great ad-blocker plugin. Its free for the basic features of which the ad-blocker is included. It filters advertisements from all your network traffic.

There are other ways of course but this is my setup.

But how do you feel about them giving priority to ads even though we pay a monthly fee for the service?

That solution would cover all devices on your home network. If you mean just your phone, its a bit more complicated. You could start with Firefox for your browser and install the AdBlockPlus plugin. That wont help much with youtube ads though.

There are better ways like rooting your phone and using blacklists to block ads. Though there are risks with doing so.

The easiest way i have found is to use Untangle. You wont recognize the sites you visit after. Its a night and day difference.

You pay a fee to connect to the Internet. Where you go after that is your own issue. You don't pay a fee to land on and use ATS, but you will see some ads. Why? Because providing you with the ATS site is not free, yet you use it for free. Do you seriously expect all the Internet sites you use to give you free access? Are you expecting the providers to pay for your access?

Or are you just a freeloader?

And they're endlessly vile . . . teeth out, boil on the nose . . . everywhere, news outlets, weather channel. They are so obsessed with us, that's all they think about is us.

I'd rather be a freeloader than accept the globalists', brainwashing, propaganda bs that our modern day ad companies have become.

But I guess you like all that?

I still use FF browser,
it has pretty good addons for add blocking, like uBlock and Adblock+

(before someone says it, yes I still use FF and prefer it 100 times over the others, works fine for me and easiest to set up preferences)

Yes, its not my fault they never adapted and expect banner ads from the 90s to still be viable.

That's a wonderful post, and so logical, too. Congrats. Does seeing and ad actually mean you accept the "globalists', brainwashing, propaganda bs"? Really? It must take a very weak mind to accept anything an ad says as "truth." And an even weaker one to believe all ads are globalist propaganda.

Do I like all that? You bet! I'd rather see an ad than pay a fee, specially to marginal sites that offer very little in the way of content anyway--like ATS. And I'd rather see an ad than listen to sniveling freeloading children who think they are entitled to everyone else's labor for free.

Another thing with the ubiquitous ads is the flashing lights, quick changing scenes and agitating sounds is disturbing and messes with our system. There are patents about how it affects the brain.
