New Services
We may, from time to time, introduce new services or enhance the existing Services. We shall notify You of the existence of these new or enhanced services. By using these services when they become available, You agree to be bound by the obligations concerning these services, which will be sent to You.

I've had this bank since 2001 and haven't seen anything like this...

hmmmmmmm that one line "the obligations concerning these services".
That sounds benign enough, but what if a flip is switched and they say, we are all digital now.
If you use your debit card, you agree to be bound by it.

BUT it gets worse...

13 Prohibited Payments. The following types of payments are prohibited through the Service, and we have the right but not the obligation to monitor for, block, cancel and/or reverse such payments:

a. Payments to or from persons or entities located in prohibited territories (including any territory outside of the United States); and

b. Payments that violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation; and

c. Payments that violate the Acceptable Use terms in Section 14 of the General Terms below; and

d. Payments related to: (1) tobacco products, (2) prescription drugs and devices; (3) narcotics, steroids, controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety; (4) drug paraphernalia; (5) ammunition, firearms, or firearm parts or related accessories; (6) weapons or knives regulated under applicable law; (7) goods or services that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity; (8) goods or services that are sexually oriented; (9) goods or services that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime; (10) goods or services that defame, abuse, harass or threaten others; (11) goods or services that include any language or images that are bigoted, hateful, racially offensive, vulgar, obscene, indecent or discourteous; (12) goods or services that advertise, sell to, or solicit others; or (13) goods or services that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy, or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction; and

e. Payments related to gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to, casino games, sports betting, horse or dog racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes; and

f. Payments relating to transactions that (1) support pyramid or ponzi schemes, matrix programs, other "get rich quick" schemes or multi-level marketing programs, (2) are associated with purchases of real property, annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts funded by a credit card, (3) are for the sale of items before the seller has control or possession of the item, (4) constitute money-laundering or terrorist financing, (5) are associated with the following "money service business" activities: the sale of traveler's checks or money orders, currency dealers or exchanges, or check cashing, or (6) provide credit repair or debt settlement services; and

WTH.

Let me get this straight... If I go to a casino and win a jackpot, my bank has the right not to accept it.

Folks, this is getting weird.

Funny wording, "agree to be bound". Bound to what? Also, screw all contracts these days. If leadership doesn't have to be bound by any contract, then neither do I.

The machine will break because flips cannot be switched.

Who wrote this, Pelosi? To know what is in the services you have to first agree to the services?

By reading this text you are bound by the terms and conditions set fourth by JinMI, here on ATS.
1. There is a $1200 fee for processing and viewership, which is listed in the conditions.
2. You agree to not sue nor take any legal action against the user.

or something like that....

I see a new business opportunity for me: a bank where, wait for it, you can spend or transfer your money in any legal way without me getting all up in your transactions.

One of my businesses has already been impacted by this kind of stuff for over a year. Clients of my pot shops are having their ATM withdrawals declined at the ATMs inside my stores.

It's about twenty pages, and every sections has my jaw dropping!

3 Amendments. We may amend this Agreement and any applicable fees and charges for the Service at any time by posting a revised version on the Site. The revised version will be effective at the time it is posted unless a delayed effective date is expressly stated in the revision. Any use of the Service after a notice of change or after the posting of a revised version of this Agreement on the Site will constitute your agreement to such changes and revised versions. Further, we may, from time to time, revise, update, upgrade or enhance the Service and/or related applications or material, which may render all such prior versions obsolete. Well, much of the stuff I spend money on other than food are included in the prohibited section. We pay cash for most things, we send checks to payoff the bills. We do not have a bank debit card, it is safer to use a credit card than use the bank card to pay for anything. Time to dump all the digital monetary technology we can quit. It is not as easy as it sounds, but most stores still take cash for now. We do need credit cards for ordering online, but we only order stuff online maybe twice a year, one vitamin and supplement place we get those from and sometimes we have to order something they do not sell around this area anywhere.

This is a prelude to everything we buy being monitored by someone....banks are constantly getting government bailouts and they will let the government know if there is any possible criminal activity going on I suppose in the future. It is illegal in this country to hoard food and some other things. I know that, but I am not a hoarder, those twenty two cans of coffee we have in stock were because we got a real good deal on them and the government has not given enough cost of living increase to cover paying more...we have to live within our means so we stock up on stuff when it goes on sale.

It's not really about spending money on that stuff, but receiving payment.
BUT, if you are doing it legally who are they to say you can't?
Like the jackpot example.

Imagine you play fantasy football online. You win 1000, they won't accept it. You don't get the money..

The "obligation" to which you will be bound is conditional, "...by using these services.".

And the notice further states that it "...shall notify You of the existence of these new or enhanced services..."

So, if you don't want to be "bound",

Be sure to Read, Understand, and Follow any notification your bank sends to you, before you use those services.

Or get a new bank.

What god-forsaken bank is that?

My normal (non credit card ) accounts are all in a local co-op credit union.

This new world sucks, I want to go back to the old days, the seventies were fun, if you ran out of money at the bar...you went home.

You had a checkbook, and if it was a day from payday, you could go buy things with a check and deposit the money in the bank the next day and you did not need to go to check and cash ever. If you screwed up and did not go to the bank because you went to the bar after work, it was seven bucks overdraft charge. I had overdraft protection too, and had it set up so if it did happen it transferred the money from my line of credit and took it out when money got in the account again so there was no charge. The people at the banks would also just hold the check for a day if it bounced and rerun it again, so even without credit protection, you still did not usually bounce a check if the money was in there two days later.

Life was so much less stressful back in the old days.

It’s getting crazier by the day!

I use banks and credit cards at a bare minimum and encouraging those I know to do the same.

Because of their fees and the tanking of currency I try and keep a minimum of my modest wealth in cash or in bank deposits.

Convert it into gold, silver, real estate, clothes, food, tools, whatever I can afford and know I’ll need in the future.

My wife has a credit card for points on fuel or groceries and she pays it every month. I’m not even thrilled with this.

I have a card that I haven’t used in months in case I need a hotel room or car rental.

We have cash on hand at home but rarely a lot in the banks.

I hate banks.
