There is going to be expected protests and counter protests.

The school board is still standing by the teacher.
The staff of the school is standing with the teacher is not expecting to change their stance on the issue of the teacher.

But having said that, Shuttleworth acknowledges “there had to be some disconnect because one of the students created this video.”

A previously male teacher known and loved by the staff and students transitioning to a woman is one thing, and while weird for the pupils, is acceptable, BUT, presenting yourself in a tight stretchy top wearing hugely oversized prosthetic breasts with sticking out nipples, apart from being impractical and a safety hazard in a machine shop environment, is totally unacceptable and unprofessional, even for a real female teacher, so I can see why there will be a right stooshie coming big over this one.

In my opinion, this teacher is suffering from a very acute mental illness and should undergo a psych eval.

I understand wanting to integrate the mentally ill into society with a functional role, but I think he could tone it down a bit.

I remember when a lot of the door greeters at Walmart had Downs Syndrome and they had to stop the program because a vocal group of people were intolerant of the genetic differences and it made them uncomfortable.

Maybe that's why they're trying to do with cases like this.

"Normalize" people with conditions that are unusual or different.

But Downs Syndrome is one thing, a sexual fetish that can't be expressed privately for "mental health reasons" would open the door to all sorts of exhibitionism, and I really don't want to get to the point where people can have public sex in the park or in other public areas in the name of "tolerance".

i used to be a bouncer, and i met a bunch of people like this in nyc. but they were all young.

but like i said, that old lady was lying about seeing the jersey devil.

At this stage I'd say the mental illness is a fact. You don't up and change your sex as an adult without having something seriously wrong up there. This isn't some child or teen going through a fad or being heavily influenced by friends or celebs.

This (public sex in the park) has been going on in the Capitol Hill neighborhood since at least the mid-1980's. A historic park near downtown Seattle, "Volunteer Park", has long been a meeting place for "Bush Bunnies". I've heard this park referred to as, "VolunQUEER Park", and is a popular park for local teachers to take students on field trips... but, I'm sure you've already guessed that.

I used to live in Seattle and frequent the Capitol Hill area all the time, I'm familiar with the park.

I got out in 2002 right before everything went balls to the wall insane and haven't looked back.

It used to be a solid working class town with a nice balance of professionals and artisans.

Now it's just beyond the pale in more ways than one.

I keep tabs on them via an online independent newspaper, but this is the first I've heard of "Bush Bunnies".

Yes.

I find no logic in doing this.

What she did makes no sense.

Nothing to do with being transgender. If a non-transgender woman did this, it still would make no logical sense.

The guy looks ridiculous. Surprised the students or their families haven't sued over sexual harassment.

Mental issues or not is besides the point.
I know that even public schools,
have dress codes.
If a female student was to show up for class,
wearing a halter top and short-shorts
she would be sent home.
Wearing gang colors is another one,
wearing offensive vulgar t-shirts is another one.
Ridiculing, by mocking female boobs is
definitely in the same category as offensive.
Just because it is a 'certain' minority,
or race, sex preference, that does
NOT give them a free pass.

When it comes to the lawsuits it depends on which families would likely be doing it more as a result of the backlash i also believe the school board went overboard with this inclusivity.

And this is our role-model for our children ?

The Teachers Union of Canada never did give a damn about kids. I had my own bad experiences dealing with them and others I know. They protect predators just to maintain their sense of collective power. I'm not against all unions or all teachers (I had some great ones in the 90s) but the Teachers Union is an adversary of parents and children.
