Half life 2 Single Player

Ok, whenever I played I played at a friends house, but finally got it for my pc. I install it, set up steam account, so forth, and now trying to play a single player game, but can't.

It keeps sending me to a deathmatch/online multi game, I don't want to play online, I hate online/multi games, they are allllllll the same, your team vs this team, go. I want a storyline, I want fun, not to get raped 50 times in 5 min by people who have been playing 24h/7d/365y. I don't want to be online playing against someone IDK but against the pc, I like storylines, I like fun, I don't like taking it in the ass from someone.

So, anyone know how to set this to Single Player?

DAMN IT!!!!! I love this game, single player..... but multi, like all multis, suck! Well, Halo multi is great, but guess what? THEY ALL LIKE THAT! If I wanted to play a multi against people I will play halo, not HL2. I want single.

Playing not even 2min 5 guys come down and it's "rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape rape" dead. Try another game, same thing. I want single player! But it won't load single, just freaking multi!

Never Mind, figured it out. Love google, 2 hours and 14 minutes later, get an answer! Damn that took longer to find out how to play single then it did to ride my bike to Wal Mart, buy it, come back, install it, d/l the updates, and then get pissed cause it wouldn't play single player.
