here is a video of the crash

pretty self explanatory

thankfully not a write off.

i still think they are going to use the B2 in some very interesting ways in the future with the B21

the picture that you can see before the video starts it looks like they activated the fire suppression system for the engines as there looks to be foam on the inlet and coming out the back/.

the only thing that makes me question that is i assume it would be a HALON foam, if it is some sort of fire suppression would just straight halon gas be better in a turbine?

Imagine the debriefing for these 2 guys.

YIKES they ill never hear the end of it.

they essentially crashed the value of an sub into the runway. The B2(depending on the markets) is worth more than its own weight in gold

hopefully shes up and flying soon, it didnt look like the wings broke or any nose damage but i wonder what it looks like under that rear landing gear....not pretty im sure.

could have for sure been wayyy worse.

aircraft is salvageable and the guys are okay.

This was February of last year. The accident report was already released into the wild.

Spirit of Georgia arrived at Palmdale today with obvious damage to the leading edge of the left wing, as well as the outboard section of wing. She's going into PDM at Northrop, where she'll undergo full repairs from the crash damage, as well as avionics and systems upgrades.
