As the Russian Army couldn't be bothered to remove the wreckage of Su-30SM 'RF-81773' that came down in a formerly Russian-controlled part of Kharkiv Oblast, Western intelligence agencies are now the proud owner of a slightly dented SAP-518SM 'Regata' jamming pod.

Edit: there was a an explosion a couple weeks back that left a "Magnetic" signature but no radiation.

Still looking for the cause.

I can't go back far enough to find that thread I posted in.

But we (I) thought it may have been a small E.M.P.. It was thought to be a smaller Tactical Nuke, but left no radiation.

One wonders if the Russians have researched "magnetic weapons" that disturb the local E-M environment. Absolute speculation on my part.

they have conventonly driven EMP weapons, no nuclear explosion needed and would fit in a larger missile like a cruise missile version called CHAMP( Counter-electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project). Soon to be replaced by High-Powered Joint Electromagnetic Non-Kinetic Strike Weapon (HiJENKS)

and than there are the Russian made explosively pumped flux compression generators made by Russian ALL STAR Andrei Sakharov all the way back in 1951.

none of them have anything nuclear involved with the generation of the EMP but are as powerful and even directional.


there is also a ALCM that disperses metallic ribbon usually over substations and power lines to short the power system out but that is nothing like what i was talking about above.

we used them in Iraq so why wouldnt Russia use them in Ukraine?
