The Inspector General of the Department of the Treasury is beginning an audit of the Internal Revenue Service after it has come to light that in 2019 1,250 employees had not paid their taxes.

Keep in mind this is going to be a second audit succeeding the one done in 2019, in which the inspector general allegedly found that only 90 of the 1250 "willful offenders".

Some of the offenders offered great excuses like "I didn't know how." Some of these were rehires after being previously fired for "willful failure to properly file their Federal tax returns."

"I forgot", "I had technical issues", and you'll love this...an unspecified number falsified government documents, yet they were rehired later on along with others who failed to pay their taxes.

You can't make this snip up folks. These are the folks that are going to be auditing you. "Rules for thee, but not for me". I guarantee 1250 isn't even the tip of the iceberg. You can thank Iowa senator Joni Ernst for bringing attention to the matter.

audit them? Hell no, give them a raise and a new glock!

I don't think you understand who you are talking about. This is the IRS. They are above the law.

They were probably busy going over Trump's taxes for the last 40 years for the 100th time, and still finding nothing.

Probably, since Durham just dropped another bombshell on their game of Get Trump...

Yes, that's usually how it's done.
Remember the VA scandal of 2014?
40 or more veterans died while waiting for care at the Phoenix VA hospital. Wait times were close to 4 months for serious medical conditions. Hospital administrators hid the data, fearing they wouldn't get their bonuses.

I thought I read this morning that Durham concluded his investigation and no one else was getting arrested. From the headline it sounded like they got to him. I didnt read the body of the article. I figured I would read about it on ATS with the liberals all saying " I told you so"!

No argument, but his work has still been instrumental in clearing Trump.

When I worked for my State's tax agency (retired several years ago), we were told that failure to file, or failure to pay either our State or Feredal taxes was grounds for termination.

One year, I received an order to report to our HR department because I had not paid the $40 I owed in state taxes April 15th of that year.

I explained to HR that I had not paid because, as a customer service agent, I had received complaints from taxpayer's that the agency's billing notices were confusing and difficult to respond to, and I wanted to "see for myself, as a typical taxpayer" if this was true.

HR was not swayed, and demanded that I either pay up in full, or agree to have my next paycheck garnished.

1913 : passing of the 16th Amendment, leading to the IRS™.
1913 " Federal-Reserve-Act™.

Coinkydink ?

Ask yourselves why the money that the IRS™ collects, is mostly deposited into the private Federal-Reserve™, instead of directly into the US-Treasury™ ?

We are indentured slaves, no ?

Hey. Little Tim Gietner didn't pay taxes for 8 years, and he got made Secretary of the Treasury. Maybe one day, one of those agents just might make something of himself!
