Uh OH!

Big BIG BIG news about the utter lack of security and documented Chinese spy infiltration in Twitter.

So far:

* When security expressed concern over prevalence of Chinese advertising, they were told, "Be quiet, we need that revenue"
* 4k engineers in Twitter have access to customer data, that they really have no need for this access
* Head of security was notified Chinese spy agencies had agents inside Twitter (!!!)
* Twitter's infrastructure is old, outdated, lacks logging and capabilities to track suspicious activity
* UPDATE: 50% of the content flagged as "hate speech" on Twitter IS IN NON-ENGLISH LANGUAGES! Those "white supremacists" at it again?? LOL
* UPDATE 2: Security has seen *numerous* foreign engineers caught attempting to sell private user data to foreign agents.
* UPDATE 3: My state senator, Blumenthal, brings up creating more government bureaucracy to attack this issue (groan/eyeroll)

Huh. So this "trusted public country", it turns out, which has engaged in censorship of public posts of certain political persuasions...has been infiltrated by the Chinese and pwned.

Looks like we know why Musk walked away from this flaming sh!t dumpster.

It's a hornets nest of foreign spies and deranged leftists.

This goes a long way towards explaining the odd, perplexing user activity seen on the platform, that is often attributed to "bots".

One might have assumed that the "bots" were automated web clients that were merely posting non-human "Tweets" through their phone interface.

Whoopsie! Turns out THE FOREIGN AGENTS ARE *INSIDE* THE COMPANY.

HUH. How many of 4k software engineers are Chinese/Indian, and of that group, HOW MANY ARE FOREIGN AGENTS

We are witnessing the blowback, and reaping what we've sewn, for DECADES of allowing our software industry to be OVERRUN with foreign residents.

NOT EVERY FOREIGN PROGRAMMER IS A BAD ACTOR OR SPY, BUT!!...

Why WHY WHY is one of our critical future industries in our country so LACKING of U.S. citizens?

Again, what % of Twitter's 4k software engineers are American citizens?

This is a 100 ton Mastodon in the room that is not talked about: the mind-boggling reliance of U.S. tech companies on foreign labor, and the acute LACK of U.S. primacy in software engineering, electrical engineering and the disciplines that go into creating the critical infrastructure of the 21st century.

This is, at the end of the day, a social media company, but this problematic reliance on foreign labor for software engineering is pervasive PERVASIVE in ALL sectors: defense, finance, energy, ISP/communication.

This is an interesting peek behind the curtain of what those of us on the inside have known for a long time.

Even Dianne Feinstein, noted Congressional weak link pwned and infiltrated by a Chinese spy (acting as her limo driver) is in on the questioning.

So this is apparently a bi-partisan, political theater event.

Going to be interesting to see how this gets "SPUN".

Update: OH NO! Now the "groomer" angle surfaces.

Twitter refused to take down explicit sexual content involving young children.

Twitter was also in the process of starting up a subscription-based p0rn content service.

Twitter under fire from both political sides, from all angles.

We're witnessing what ought to be the death knell of a social media platform.

ETA:

Now the Musk 11-th hour abandonment of this M&A oppurtunity makes sense.

It's an irredeemable PoS.

But, all of the employees were allegedly upset about "right wing provocateur" Musk taking ownership of "the platform". Now we what their real concerns were.

Sounds like Musk might've gotten wind of all of this disturbing evidence, and hit the eject button just in time.

This company should be obliterated with hot fire.

Twitter does not have, at least when I was there which was up until January 2022, does not have a testing environment or a development or staging environment

WHAT? LOL
How does their development cycle work? They just push everything straight to production? What kind of mess is this... I work for a relatively small company and we not only have a dev environment, we have QC, and even a hotfix environment.

Also if you want to prove your point even more good "twitter software developer linkedin" and just checkout the names of their engineers. One guy did a 4 month internship in 2014, then a 4 month internship at Twitter and got hired as a software engineer, then they promoted him to SE II and then senior software engineer in 2 years LOL. A senior software engineer with (being generous) 3 years of work experience.

Yes, it's an embarrassment, for sure.

They have something like 4k engineers, so...they have a whole lot of churn and changes, but scant ability to verify those huge changes coming into their infrastructure.

I'm sure the internal narrative is "ahh...it's just a social media app to share pics or mindlessly like stuff or shout into the ether"

To a degree they're right, but then again, why do so many "official" organizations, from every sphere, government, industry, entertainment, celebrities trust this as a primary vehicle to reach other people?

How much critical information is entrusted for dissemination to such a sloppy platform, that is now PROVEN to be infiltrated by foreign spies?

o_O

Here is a more "official" link (C-SPAN feed) for the testimony.

I don't think the implications of this are sinking in just yet; maybe they never will. And this is a sign of how FKED we are as a nation.

- sure hope nobody shares passwords between Twitter and say, their bank/finance accounts
- sure hope everybody is comfortable with their personal location data shared with the CCP or anyone else, for the right price
- if you are an expat/immigrant in the U.S. and figured you were safe from reprisal for sharing/liking material that your former nation would find objectionable, and would try to get back at you ... how safe do you feel now
- pretty much assume any politician, influencer, celebrity, luminaries that uses Twitter, has either their personal data already in the hands of foreign adversaries, or they have a head start on stealing it

Think about it. It's a spies WET DREAM.

People of importance, whom you'd like to surveil or compromise...are carrying a TRANSPONDER/BUG IN THEIR POCKET (their phone). Foreign intelligence knows where they go, when they go there, with whom they go.

10.6.2022 - ALERT!

In preparation for the potential BOMBSHELL indictment of Hunter Biden, TWITTER has not only stalled the Elon Musk takeover of the company, but has activated it's radical "BIRD WATCH" Fact Checking system, designed to protect Democrats, and ban those who are against the Biden crime family.

Source: truthsocial.com...

Did you know the Twitter bird is a Buzzard?

This is very concerning news. It's clear that Twitter has serious security issues that need to be addressed. I'm glad that this whistleblower is coming forward and shedding light on these issues. I hope that Twitter will take this seriously and take steps to improve their security.
