Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.

This can mean anything even hospice care when aim is to get patient comfortable under medical supervision ( pain pump ).

Regardless of current climate, God Save The Queen! Best to Her Majesty...and all Brits.

Regardless of our thoughts on the monarchy, there is no denying her importance and influence on the UK.

The only reason I posted was seeing that Truss and others left the House of Commons shortly after getting the information.

As an American, when heads of government change their plans means it does have some significance.

I've not known another, my parents, aunts, uncles, & grandparents are all gone and only my FIL is left on my wifes side, am sure many others are in the same space.. always thought it'd be huge when it happens especially how muted Philips was..

That's a point. If she passes, there will have to be an immediate meeting of the Privy Council (a formal body which contains the senior political leadership) for the purpose of recognising the new monarch and announcing the fact.

id be incredibly surprised but , wouldnt it be nice as a last dying wish that the crown service and all its estates were broken up and given back to the people

Personally, I'm ambivalent about the monarchy, that said the sheer fact it is so important to the United Kingdom that they interrupt Liz Truss in the House of Commons, makes it a story to listen to.

The BBC has had nothing but this for the last 2 hours

That reminds me of when Pope John Paul II died. Many Catholics, myself included, had never known any other pope.

not trying to be disrespectful and realize that she means a lot to many brits.

the impression i have gotten over the years about her, i can't help but think that she wouldn't want all the fuss that's being made over her now.

she has always seemed to be a practical lady to me, and only did what was expected as far as being in the public eye, for traditions sake.

it wouldn't surprise me any if she is saying, i'm 93 years old and tried, my time has come, grieve not for me.

It's definitely the end of an era, a transition I can easily see the monarchy becoming less and less important.

BBC talks about her being a constant and stabilizing influence.

the problem with removing lynch pins is guessing what happens next and this feels like it could go in any direction.

maybe if she was as decent as everyone makes out and she was a queen of the people she'd have used her immense power to protect the people of the UK from pedophiles in parliament and industry
