I am sure the majority and millions of Russians would love the idea and return of another clown and puppet leader of western countries and EU like Boris Yeltsin.

The same Boris Yeltsin who stole Russia's resources and put millions of Russians in Poverty with his polices from many of the advisers who were from other countries advising Boris Yeltsin.

The Majority of Russians remember well the last time Westerns pulled the regime change on them.

Well done Putin!

This is my opinion after reading that part of Putin's answers that were after the opening speech.

He clarified everything there about Liz Truss and about Russian gas and about the idiocy of Western governments!

I believe that anti-Russian propagandists will cry when all this is translated and published in the English version.

I had a lot of fun reading all of this.

Do you think Russian Oligarchs and people in power are any different? There is a big difference with cultures in US and Russia. In Russia they kill people.

And you are either naive or ignorant if you don't think that happens in America just as much if not more frequently. Almost weekly it seems like there is some suspicious death(Epstine didn't kill himself). The fact that #clintiondeathtoll is regularly trending on twatter should tell you something.

One looks at Iran sanctions and it did them no end of good in rekindling their defence domestic manufacturing. Same with Japan and Germany pre war, helped them develop local industries rather than import. long term the sanctions will definitely help Russia's military become independent of foreign parts, indeed this might well be the perfect balancing of the economy away from relying on carbons

In those times life was very much different, we are very much living in Information Era, Hi-tech Era. New inventions just keep coming nanotechnology, AI deep learning, quantum computing and -mechanics etc. The problem Russia has is that they don´t get hi-tech from west anymore and brain drain of 170 000 IT workers who left the country since war in Ukraine started. More IT workers are willing to leave if possible as inflation rate being high in 15% and wages dropped over 6%.

How is it that Putin always seems, in his speeches, to be more intelligent and down to earth than all the western leaders combined.

He's an excellent actor with a passable imitation of a decent human being. In reality I'd rather not know what he's really like. Delusional for a start.

You make an excellent write up there Dollukka
indeed these are different times to the last century. Know exactly where you are coming from on the brain drain Moscow has been in the habit of inflicting on itself. 170 thousand IT workers already gone, wowzers totally insane from a Russian power point of view.

Can you imagine Russia today indeed the whole of the former USSR if the brain drain had never happened. It's been going on for at least since 1905, maybe even earlier with the massacres of minorities then later with business leaders all organised from the very top. Whole swathes of the population forced to flee for a multitude of reasons going on well over 100 years.

Russia the biggest country on Planet Earth by an absolute mile with all those resources should be a very well populated nation by now with a world leading economy. But it has neither. Something is wrong with the leadership to allow this to happen for generations. They've shot themselves in the foot for over 100 years, the crazy thing being they are still shooting themselves in the foot right now
Crazy, totally crazy!

What is going on in ST Peterburg
direct google translation

The deputies believe that because of the actions of Vladimir Putin, people are dying, the Russian economy is suffering, NATO is expanding, and Ukraine is acquiring modern equipment.

The Council of Deputies of the municipality "Smolninskoye" decided to appeal to the deputies of the State Duma with a proposal to bring charges of treason against President Vladimir Putin and remove him from office. This was announced by the municipal deputy Nikita Yuferev on the social network. The meeting of the municipal council was held the day before, on September 7. According to Yuferev, 10 deputies out of 20 came to it - this is enough to make decisions. Municipal deputy Dmitry Palyuga proposed to appeal to the deputies of the State Duma.

The decision was supported by the majority: seven deputies voted in favor and three abstained. The deputies argued their position by the fact that, in their opinion, due to the actions of Vladimir Putin, “young able-bodied citizens are dying and becoming disabled”, the Russian economy is suffering, the NATO bloc is expanding, and Ukraine is acquiring new modern equipment.

At a minimum, many of the actions of Western governments raise a number of questions for the mentally healthy person.

This is where The West is at...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escalation_of_commitment

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Escalation of commitment is a human behavior pattern in which an individual or group facing increasingly negative outcomes from a decision, action, or investment nevertheless continue the behavior instead of altering course. The actor maintains behaviors that are irrational, but align with previous decisions and actions

RU never developed a domestic IC production capability because it didn't have the market and revenue to support the investment in lithography equipment. That stuff is pricy. It's an interesting study...

Surely RU is planning on obtaining ICs from Asia, but who? India is investing in the production facilities.

What a luxury it would be to actually have elected officials come clean and begin the work of saving face instead of destroying lives to increase ivory tower stardom.
