Ya nearly 4000 when times were good, nowadays I bet there's under 1000 in Vysokopillia and it's not like this tiny village was supposed to be some Russian Stronghold or anything. Look, the Democrats in America have been openly demonizing Russia since 2015. They have deep ties to Ukraine, right up to the current President. And you don't think that factored into Putin's decision to invade? Into the US Administration's over zealous eagerness to provide aide to Ukraine? Along with the regional issues they already had?

We sanctioned them, they responded in a way that is markedly worse than sanctions.

Europe will fold in their support of Ukraine.

It seems to me that nobody will win this war , Russia is having problems with munitions and troops while the West is committed to not let Putin Take any of Ukraine ... the direction of travel is set and it isn't looking pretty unless a miracle happens (from within the Kremlin).
