I just watched a documentary about them. I remember around 1992 or so they were a thing with people. I sort of lost track.

Here is something recent - a Kansas cover:

Here is something older which to people back then was pretty messed up:

Have you seen me? Which was I suppose making fun of the hole milk carton thing back in the 80's and 90's.

What do you think?

GWAR is an American treasure.

I made a memorial thread here for Oderus Orungus when he passed away.

They always put on a fantastic show. I was lucky enough to see them live many times when I was a teenager in the 90s.

I think they reached they're national peak when they were in the Empire Records movie.

I haven't seen the new documentary yet though, I'll have to check it out.

Usually rock docs suck, but the one I watched was good. Not sure if that matters, but it seemed the documentary guys kept # real with the subject. Anyway, it was a good watch. Made me jealous that I never had the time to create like they did.

I saw GWAR at the "Omni" in Oakland, CA. In the 80's.

The venue hall ceilings were at least 25 to 30 feet. Every concert I went to at the "Omni" after Gwar, all I had to do is look up to reminisce.

The band had hoses spraying the crowd with fake blood and the pressure was great enough to stain the ceiling with red spray!!

I remember distinctly how I was wondering why most of the fans were wearing all white while we were waiting in line to get in...

Obviously a "ahhh-HAA!!" moment came over me the minute they cracked the valves, lol

Pink and red people everywhere when the show let out! Hahahaha!🤘

Well there is more to life then making other people die. You must revel in the lamentations of their women

Me and my friends would go out to bars and put “fing an animal” on loop on the digital jukeboxes. It always started the same watching people looking around in disgust for the first couple plays, then by the 6th one they were all bobbing their heads and singing along. We were young and dumb.

I saw them with Electric Love Muffin and The Dead Milkmen at the Trocadero. It was outrageous.
