Gazprom has extended the three-day repair of the Nord Stream turbine for an indefinite period: "Maintenance of the only working turbine of the Nord Stream has revealed malfunctions and the gas pipeline will not work unless the problem is solved "

t.me...

Nord Stream has been suspended indefinitely, Gazprom announced.

Malfunctions were detected on the last remaining turbine, Rostekhnadzor issued a warning to the company. Gazprom sent a letter to Siemens about the need to repair the turbine.

t.me...

It is from telegram so take it with some salt. However, if it is true then I expect to see some panic setting in very soon. For the record, I don't believe there is anything wrong with the equipment but they are using it as an excuse. If I didn't say that I know some here would try to make it an issue.

Maybe they will float an offer to open up Nordstream 2.

Edit to add

Looks like it is true. Western media is also reporting on it.

I dunno, it sounds mighty supicious to me. I heard that Trudeau made some sort of an executive decision to impound the equipment, or is that something else I'm referring to? The world has gone bat# insane as it is, tbh, I have no idea why the Russians would expect Trudeau )or, insert any other WEF-backed Western politician) NOT to interfere at this stage, in particular here in light of Castro Jnr's attitude since the start of the pandemic, getting worse every day by all accounts.

Ummm...why not cut off the flow...to those who state they don't want your product...?

To those who sanction your product...to those who state they're going to apply arbitrary price caps on your product...?

He needs the money, simple as. Don't get me wrong, I wish they'll cut it off. That would shift more public anger on Russia.

Russians have been burning gas $10m (£8.4m) worth of gas every day for some time now, gas that was before going to European countrys .

Not sure is the issue techical, that they are forced to burn it to release pressure , a safety mechanism ...

A lot of people saw this coming. The price cap is just like daring them to shut it down.

I wonder what Hina thinks about the price cap, maybe they have some technical difficulties.

Ummm...Russia is swimming in cash...Russia simply doesn't need any western markets and They've pivoted away from them and have found more non-western markets than they have product...it's those western markets that absolutely need Russian energy commodities...

Any public anger will be at their own inept leadership...just wait until these winter heating bills skyrocket and people start freezing to death...there's going to be blood in the streets of Europe...and the anger will be directed internally...not at Russia...

I have visions of freezing Europeans carrying sleeping bags into government buildings and camping out in the hallways until their idiot leaders come to their senses.

May not be so bad after all.

Reserves in the EU were filled up to 79.4% as of Aug. 27 compared with the target of 80% by Nov. 1, according to Gas Infrastructure Europe inventory data.

Right it's an opportunity for change too, I just want to make sure Putin gets the blame he deserves. I'm not against blood on the streets at all, I want to see a European renaissance. It's just important that we also take this opportunity handed to us by Putin to punish his establishment, two birds with one stone.

But he absolutely needs the money if he wants Russia to prosper long term, he's allowed his system to rely way too much on selling fuel. And you can't move that gas somewhere else like you can it oil, that's why they're torching it. Because if you disable those wells it costs a fortune to open them again.

Change like you're thinking takes years, if not decades. They have ~2 months before winter weather hits. Now is way too little, way too late to start prepping.
