Congrats on the Levi's score!

That's a great bargin!

Oh, and never do secondhand shoes, they can be bad for your feet because they've worn in to the previous owners foot.

Also, great video, thanks for that!

Eye candy in the morning.

Mass produced Modern clothing is meant to be replaced after 5 to 6 washing machine runs.

Really? The Dry Cleaning and Laundry Institute says 35-50.
www.bing.com...

While 35-50 may be indicative of there testing, it does not bare out in my real world experience.

I appreciate your diligence in fact checking, I would only say that in alot of cases these retail stores are selling factory seconds.

And on top of that even when made correctly , the materials do not offer the same durability that products did in the past .

That's not to say that there are not companies out there who offer quality long lasting garments.

I'm just saying by and large that's not what people are buying ..

at some point it becomes about what you can afford.

Thanks for your reply Schuyler, I've always found your posts to be, at the very least, thought provoking.

I still have t shirts from the late 80s early nineties that are in my regular wearing line up..

I have a few articles of clothing from my mom that are 1960’s. They all look brand new.
The other thing is that fabric was actually thick back then. None of this tissue paper nonsense.

Shoes too. Whatever the bottom of shoes are today are terrible.

I am a flannel wearing, salt and pepper beard owning,
Garden growing, variatel cultivating, knees muddy, back sweaty, American.

I recently bought liberty brand overalls. Because it was all they had in stock in my size at tractor supply..

F u.. I'm not fat .. it's a supply chain thing..

2 months later and I not only have a hole in my back pocket.. but also a small tear in the groin.

Now I don't keep anything in that pocket.. they are around the property work clothes and I'm not and have never claimed to be hung like John Holmes ..

2 months ..

Damn I forgot my point..

Oh well..

😇

Respectfully,
~meathead
