Sir James Bevan head of the environment agency, makes you laugh as that agency has whistle blowers telling us that they are being told to ignore complaints about pollution etc.

Want's us to drink Filthy, Dirty Contaminated water.

People take medication, virus and some bacterial spores that can be very harmful can pass through there water treatment process which is a process that panders to the Privatised water company's profits NOT the actual quality of the water that comes out at the end of that treatment.

Even in very small quantity's these contaminants pose a serious risk to human and animal health.

Let SIR James Bevan drink it himself.

At one time our nation had a government owned water industry, it had enough water supply's, storage and reservoirs to cope with the worst imaginable draught.

But since it was sold off half our reservoirs have been drained, sold off and used for building private housing.

The well being of the British public is not this governments concern, the well being of our children is not there concern and there agency's are just an extension of them remember.

They want to bring back Cholera, Typhus and other diseases to kill of the poor that will be the ones drinking from the tap's without boiling or filtering our water, they want to allow our water which used to be the best in Europe to continue to become bad and no longer potable then I say make then drink it, make them swallow it, make them live on it even if we have to put the blighters into a bloody cell to make them take the poison they want to give the rest of us.

The ONLY way to make sewerage clean is to let NATURE clean it up and even that does not get rid of those nasty pharmaceutical's, even distilling it can leave some contamination and yet that is the only way to make damn near pure water from anything, they are not going to distil it however just filter it.

It's becoming a genuine dystopia.

Today's great stink is not the Thames but the people in charge of our country.

It's just a way of charging you for a basic necessity of life so they can't lose. It will be air quality next, and some companies will think up a way of charging you for that along with government approval after they have been educated by the experts.

If anyone in the world drinks public water from the faucet should by now know it is no longer safe. Often there is feces in public water. The days of drinking water from the faucet are gone....

Drink and cook with bottled water.

a reply to: gortex

There isn’t poop in public water. Water lines are a pressurized system , most sewer is a gravity system. 78% of bottled water has microbes in it.

Your doctor is an asshole. Many doctors also say the Covid 19 jab is safe too.

Many bottle water companies offer clean water with much less nitrates than public water.

All it takes is one time to drink feces and welcome Morbus Crohn and other permanent diseases.

That depends.

In Portugal they publish the results of the frequent tests done to public water, and, personally, I prefer tap water to bottled water. My doctor told to drink tap water and not bottled water.

Some places in Portugal use mussels in their cleaning plants.

You must be an expert on water quality and have done tests on Almada's water system to be able to make such a statement...

Another solution they could think about using, specially in the UK, is desalinization of sea water.

I didn't know, but the Portuguese island of Porto Santo has been using a desalinization plant to supply all the water for the island since the 1980s.

Waste water is treated and used for watering plants.

If they really want solutions they could do it.

How do you get the estrogen out of the water, all those pills the girls are taking for birth control get flushed, you might get the bugs out, that's easy just boil it. But since a female in her lifetime just produces a teaspoon full it must be pretty potent in small quantities. I am sure this is where all the feminization is coming from. Then there are the dairy cows having more of it so they can be milked all year around. Estrogen-linked cancers are big, in fact, most of anti-cancer drugs are estrogen blockers.

Don't the astronauts aboard the ISS drink recycled water?

Sorry Armap... I must have hit myself with the idiot stick because somehow I missed your post.

The answer is Yes since 2009 they've be reclaiming About 70-75% of the water from urine.

NASA Marshall Engineers Refine Hardware, Apply Innovative Solutions to More Reliably Recycle Space Station Wastewater

But here's an interesting thing.

Back in 2015 the Russians wouldn't have anything to do with 'recycled water'.
US astronauts drink recycled urine aboard space station but Russians refuse

While the Americans are the only ones who filter their urine, both sets of astronauts gather condensate from the air. They have separate water systems and have never agreed on how to filter their water, according to Bloomberg.

Since the launch of the Soviet Mir space station in 1986, the Russians have used silver in its ionic form. Nasa has made use of iodine since 1981, when the space shuttle program began. The Americans plan to start using silver since it doesn’t have to be filtered out before consumption, but Carter said he likes that the Americans and Russians employ different methods.

I don't have the slightest idea, I'm not a chemist.

"Feminization"? I doubt that's the source of any "feminization".

Really? Do you have any supporting data for that?
Thanks in advance.

Think i read somewhere that some water companies lose 40% of the water supply before it even reaches your tap down to the state and disrepair of their pipe systems and the like.

Well that is the result of selling off the water board's assets, no proper maintenance, they only maintain to keep up profit and nothing more, closed and destroyed damn's, destroyed and unpoliced drainage ditches also harmed by later EU field size regulations, closed pumping stations.

So I am not surprised there are leak's and damage to the system but in the past not only could the system absorb leak's though it was also far better maintained but there was surplus water storage in the form of extra reservoirs and that was actually by design not accidental they were needed in case of draught's as the system was built with long term planning of a national infrastructure in mind.

The very worst people to hand national assets and infrastructure to are private owners especially profit driven ones.

Despite this Labour did nothing about it when they got back into power because the Labour party had been completely usurped and infiltrated by so called New Labour, sadly Starmer is one of those useless lout's, well useless to us but definitely not to intelligence agency that first began it's infiltration of Labour as far back as the 1960's but ramped it up in the 70's as part of the coup plot against Wilson's government and were later green lighted by Thatchers government to even more ramp up there infiltration and subversion of the Labour movement through the 1980's, half the militant (whom we interpreted as genuine commies trying to subvert labour but how wrong we were) leaders were actually under there control and were plant's either to discredit labour or to take it over, A lot of Blair's cabinet were former militant, I am dead set old fashioned Labour but hate militant almost as much as I do the Tory's (note I draw a distinction between Tory's - ultra right wing for the rich by the rich conservatives and Conservatives whom are just people that I actually respect but often disagree with, in fact the Tory's are not really conservatives at all as they conserve nothing but sell off national assets and take all too much financial backing and even orders (example Murdoch's influence over the Tory's) from foreign donors to there party.

Now of course this last paragraph is just my opinion.

The state of disrepair of the pipe network and the great sell off when it was privatized really has left us in a mess.
