Which prominent Dem? How are the police participating? The source article which includes the police report appears to show they followed proper protocol.

Huh? Why would the police be involved? It clearly stated that after the incident they recieved a call from a computerized voice that told them why they did it, what website they are a member of and their user name.

I am not doubting the police report of the incident and calls they received. I never implied it. How are they participating?

I am certainly suspicious of someone swatting, then calling back to provide their identity.

Well I was right about Smollett, so we will see if they track down this swatter and charge him/her. Should be easy, they provided the cops with info.

There's two ways to look at this. 1st is the obvious attempt to ensnare someone else as the culprit. The 2nd is abit more deranged but also common and that is accreditation. They want the acknowledgement, not personally, but digitally.

It's pretty common among swatters and you'll recall Tyler Bariss for example.

Can you give a source on the second phone call? I read about a second call claiming that there were children in the house but I didn't see anything about anyone claiming responsibility. Maybe I missed something?

Sure, it's actually on page one of the thread, but here you go.

"After we cleared the call and went back in service, Rome-Floyd 911 received a call from the suspect, claiming responsibility for the incident and explaining his/her motives," the report stated. "It was a computer generated voice. They explained they were upset about Ms. Greene's stance on 'trans-gender youth's rights,' and stated they were trying to 'swat' her."

The report also stated the caller said they are connected to a website, which police stated supports cyberstalking, and gave the police their user name on the site.

Very true, but I am not sure if up to a year in jail is worth recognition. But, people are crazy.

Georgia Law:

In general, the offense is misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature and carries up to 12 months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Higher penalties for injuries that occur during it.
