Something to consider, the majority of us are all in the same boat, with similar predicaments, and the same wants and needs as anybody on the island bar the privileged few, and even they cannot escape being people.

I am a Yorkshire lass, so not far from you guys up North.

I know lots of Yorkshire people, mostly good people.

I'm a sixties baby and remember the good old days of when the Scottish and Irish and Welsh hated the English, hence my statement of 'we are not a United KIngdom'

I was born in 65.
They still do 'hate us', or at least some do.
But that's the thing, they don't really.....its Westminster they hate.
And rightly so.....the people in Westminster have done nothing for the likes of us.
The party political system is rotten and no longer fit-for-purpose.

Until relatively recently I used to regularly travel all over the UK, especially Scotland and have some great mates up there.
Sure, some of them are knobheads, pretty much the same as everywhere.

Yes there's rivalry, but that's as it should be.

I could waffle on for ages - as many in this thread will vouch for - but now's not the time or place.

I think that is more to do with the meddling governments over the centuries to divide us all.

As long as we're divided things will stay the same.

That will come with time.
Stick with it, there's some really good people here....and you will always be welcome.

Some of us get cranky some times, me more than most.

Oh im Scottish Bella1, no doubt about that.

But my dad was English.

Don't get Scottish passports through do you, or English for that matter, you get British passports.

And its not like that addresses the conundrum.

Well! A ‘60s Yorkshire lass!

I’m a 60’s Yorkshire lad! Whitby.

My dad moved us to Canada in 1970 when things weren’t so good.

Our family has close ties to Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. Dad used to visit a close friend in north Scotland and go hunting every year, my great aunts were Scottish from Glasgow, my aunt lives in Whales where some of our ancestors came from and my brother in law is northern Irish.

We all get along well. It’s the bloody politicians.
