Possibly the reasons for eating locusts in bible times, was to try and lessen the locust plagues.

People often get hyperactive or agitated after consuming red food colouring.

I am human, an omnivore. I personally eat everything as long as it is tasty and i like it. How many bugs and worms and ants did we eat as kids, as "a test of courage" and because of simple curiosity. We even caught grasshoppers, grilled and ate them. Nobody ever had a problem after eating "zee bugs". Millions of asians have absolutely no problem with eating "zee bugs", ever seen the Bangkok market for example, where all the tourists try "zee bugs", mostly for the same reasons we did it as kids?

It´s of course another thing to be forced to eat bugs and no meat anymore by the so called "elite", while the "elite" will still eat steaks and filet mignon and stuff. But let´s be honest, if it comes hard and this will happen, rather sooner than later, then i am happy about every gram of protein i can get. And i bet every sane human being will eat "zee bugs" before starving to death.

I say it´s BS that an omnivore(!!!) can´t digest insects because of the chitin. I tried it, many, many other humans around the world tried it and eat bugs on a daily base and nobody got problems because of a bit of chitin. Few exceptions might confirm the rule.

But again: To be forced to eat bugs, especially for people who feel disgusted by only thinking about eating bugs, because of an WEF agenda, has potential for protests and riots. But i personally would eat bugs before starving (maybe simply only because of an agenda of a few ultra-rich beings and their world-population-domination plans), even all of the bugs other people don´t like to eat while starving. I would prefer fresh bugs before cooked leather belts or bread from sawdust. Maybe that´s because i love all that survival stuff since i was a kid, read many books over the years at that time and we tried everything in the forest right around the corner. Eating bugs included. And not only one or two tiny ants.

You're all taking this so seriously, but it's a pipe dream because it's not economically viable. The cost of setting up the massive facilities required grossly outweighs the cost of simply grazing cattle on grassland, or feeding pigs on vegetable waste.

And there's absolutely no way that most countries outside of the G7 would be willing to cover the costs, they're also not going to desensitise rural voters who are the base of many parties in many countries.

Your irrational fears are controlling you, this isn't going to happen.

depends how you look at it with countries paying farmers to stop farming or to rewild farms to offset the carbon costs of building new homes. for example Portsmouth buys farms to rewild to build more homes so more mouths with less food has to create,

www.portsmouth.co.uk... uilding-2968013

The rewilding is reducing the number of cattle at a time goves are reducing nitrates so arable farmers need more cattle to produce more manure to compensate for the reduction in nitrates if they are to keep up with crop yeilds.

when you step back its easy to see the food chain collapsing and starvation becoming a real thing for even first world countries with ample land/water to grow enough not to starve..

Yet when they went at this year's Davos meeting many of the elitists, politicians had eaten expensive steaks for dinner.

First it was "No more meat for you!" on account of cow farts.

Now it's "Bugs for thee, but not for me."

I find it interesting that there is a low-key campaign (a Clinton-style "incrementalist" paradigm shift, to avoid p!ssing people off over where this whole scheme leads) to begin dictating the food and nutritional habits of the unwashed masses, but it seems very few people are in tune with this and voicing much concern.

Social credit scoring.

Dictatorial menu planning.

goes with nitrate credit platforms to reduce the number of cattle to allow more building/profits mouths to feed on less food..

quite the easy calculation.. only am not sure people will sit around to be starved to death while others maintain their lavish lifestyles..

1) Source, please
2) There was one article in the MSM and a lot of people waded in to comment on it. That's not remotely similar to what you're suggesting

Why don't you stick to the topic, junior?

It was in the NY Times, and Newsweek, and has been promoted a lot lately. It turns out that when there are stacks of bodies and everyone runs out of food, the only thing to eat will be people and insects.

Funny how the media is promoting those two things.

You're talking about countries with highly efficient farming systems, that either have a problem with land being over cultivated which has destroyed the soil quality, or where crops were farmed due to subsidies. Plus, the majority of the land involved globally is typically used for arable crops, not for grazing.

This whole thing about alternative sources of protein is just science porn. It's OK on a small scale to produce things like cattle feed for a few farms, but if you try to feed a nation on it it quickly becomes uneconomical. The amount of energy that it would require is obscene, and you'd rack up millions of food miles simply shipping all of the chemicals needed by these farms.

You'd need thousands of people with energy and water intensive plants in order to do what a couple of hundred farmers can do with a bunch of tractors and some quads.

You'd also need to find alternatives for all of the leather and milk that wouldn't be being produced, not to mention all of the other things that rendered carcases are used for. Dozens of industries depend on cattle and dairy farming, and millions of people use the byproducts.

On top of this, can you seriously see the wealthy elite paying trillions to poor countries to stop farming?

Most of the governments in Africa, and Asia, as well as the governments of India and Pakistan, are dependant on the support of rural communities. Can you see the Turkish government telling it's rural support base that they will be declared outmoded and replaced by industrialized bug farms?

The only place that these things are even remotely practical would be somewhere like Mars, where cattle can't survive.

I'm quoting you.

It was in the NY Times, and Newsweek

It was one article in the NTY, which Newsweek commented on. One of the reasons why cannibalism isn't a thing is that it's a really good way to spread diseases. It's also why eating primates is a very bad thing.

From a scientific perspective, if you had lots of corpses and little food it would make much more sense to feed the corpses to animals like pigs, or to use them to create fertilizer to grow crops.

But, of course, we're not running out of food. We're living in a time of epic food waste. We produce much more than we need, and the places that don't are typically war zones or are destabilized by conflicts.

You make these statements but you never think them through, this is real life, not some dystopian science fiction movie.

I also notice that you didn't provide that source that I asked for.

Historically, cannibalism has always been an absolute last resort because it's a good way to spread disease. It often kills communities that resort to it.
