Re introducing wolves to Yellowstone was proven to be one the the best things to happen for the bear population and wildlife in the park as a whole.
They picked off the over populated Elk population and made more forage for every body. Trouble was they packs will wonder off onto local farmer's
lands. I think Oz was overrun with Rabbits and Cane toads (?). A good canine type carnivore might be a good thing in some areas.
