Why Do People Tie Their Identity to Politics?

A better question might why politics is tied to identity?

Why is it assumed that I will vote a certain way, care about certain things since I am a woman, white, live in the 'burbs, have a college education, etc.?

Very well said. It’s sad that those who claim to be self thinkers just push someone else’s agenda. Politicians don’t care about the people getting salty on their behalf so why bother.

I’d go with vanity, and conformity for the ill informed or misunderstood…Misery loves company, and a lot of things just get sensationalized. Religion followed suit for years, where as the Vatican might as well be the right, while the protestants would be the left for example. Heck most of atrocities committed by Religion is usually over politics or ulterior motives under the guise of good faith.

Which is why the middle always Evil.

This phenomenon is not limited to ATS or "conspiracy sites". It's evident on regular social media, as well. Extremists and crazies are found on all sides.

Most people are lazy and the majority are stupid.
They have been brainwashed their entire lives by the school system to regurgitate the "facts" given to them and not to think for themselves.

The results is picking sides and being offended.

I myself woke up this morning to a healthy dose of sacred geometry (can't get that time back) so I decided to watch a lecture on particle physics and dark matter only to end up getting a huge dose of woke politics from a guilt tripping because he's privileged CERN employee.

You know how it goes, that infection sets in quick.

Here you will learn all about melody his native American friend and those other privileged white men that won Nobel prizes in physics... and lot of other woke stuff too.

Nowhere is safe not even the haven of science.



I'm beginning to think our scientific community is playing a large role in being purveyors of agendas.
