NARA has been requesting these documents for over a year and a half. The DOJ reports that Trump's lawyers were stonewalling them. Apparently the FBI thought the only way these documents were going to be returned is if they went in and got them.
Now, ask yourself, why is Trump being so difficult in just handing over some documents? This doesn't seem like a situation where it should have even gotten to a point that the DOJ had to send agents to MAL to negotiate the return of the documents with Trump's lawyers, let alone a search warrant needing to be issued.
I feel like any normal person if they were told they may have removed documents they weren't supposed to they'd say, "My bad," and return them to the proper party. They wouldn't spend thousands, if not millions, of dollars bringing lawyers in to negotiate the return of the documents.

It appears that this raid was illegal, it is misconduct.
There are many violations, misconduct and violations of civil rights.
Merrick Garland must resign or face impeachment.
This can not be left to stand as a precedent without consequence.

It almost seems that Garland did Trump a favour.
I’m hearing a lot of news reports up here that seem to side with him on this one. Either quoting others that state that this was over reach on the FBI’s part or outright stating it themselves.

If the DOJ doesn't charge Trump with something big soon and doesn't do so in a transparent manner this certainly will be a major political loss for the Democrats. Even prominent liberal politicians and news outlets are saying as much.
The question is do the Democrats now have something big? Or have they become complacent with the nonsense charges they have been leveling for the last 6 years. Have they drunk to much of their own koolaid?
I don't see how the DOJ can recover from this if its just about a few classified documents and truns into another drawn out political circuses ment more to win votes than prosecute the guilty.
Is Garland the kind of man who cares more about the DOJ than he does about political vendettas? I hope its the former for the sake of the US.
