Hi all.
I just wanted to ask here if anybody has set up will and trust, in some other way than through a lawyer?
I asked a lawyer and she said it would cost between $1200-$1500 for both.

I know many things can be done online, but I'm unsure where to go .
Obviously I'm hoping for a cheaper and good way to do this.

It has to be legally recognized and accepted in Florida.
Also , my lawyer off course said that the only and best way is through a lawyer.

Thanks

I did, but different country / continent. You absolutely have to know what you want and if it's in alignment with laws. Otherwise the price will go up, as you use up the hours calculated by the lawyer.

It's best to make a short visit and give the lawyer a frame of reference first. I paid around 2000€ for everything, that includes a trust/escrow with a notary in case something happens to me.

We have a trust in Michigan. You can get forms, file it yourself w the county you live in.

It has to be prepared, signed and filed. I don't think any state requires a lawyer, and forms are free.

Good luck, toss me any questions...

PS you don't "setup"... You "design" a "Trust"... For your n everyone's benefit. Wills ( do yourself)... Needs to be filed w your Probate court. That's it. And the bank...peace

Florida has some very protective laws for wills, trusts, etc. Lots of attempted fraud due do the high population of senior citizens. Honestly, one of the things that's probably worth doing through a lawyer. Those prices your lawyer gave are about average for each, from my experience.

Do not design your Trust yourself. Hire the lawyer. This cost will be well worth it if you hire the right lawyer who knows what they are doing. $1500 for both a will and a trust is not bad. I live in SC and it's about the same.
