So Master of Puppets Is a Thing

I guess it got featured in Stranger Things and now there are covers being done all over. For once, I get to be truly OG having loved "Master of Puppets" before it was cool.

This is a jazz cover. It's not bad, but it's not necessarily eye popping, kinda fun, but if you want to know why I put it up here, skip to about 3 minutes or so in. That will give you an idea of the tempo of the song and demeanor of the musicians. Wait for the solo. That's when the fun begins. They really did record it at that tempo.

That’s as tight of a group of musicians with their playing as you can get.
Singer has an incredible voice, I’ll have to watch some more of their videos.

I think they got the band member credits wrong at the end though.
The guy on trombone was clearly of Asian descent but they show his name as Jimmy O’Connell, and they show the trumpet player as Luther Wong and he does not look Asian.
Maybe I am wrong, I don’t know.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply they weren't good, just that as far as a cover goes, there wasn't anything super spectacular about it except that solo. It was a good cover, and you're right - they're pretty good and have done some really good things.

I just saw this for the first time 2 days ago! The violin solo was pretty awesome.

When all the musicians look rather awkward and not very attractive, you know it's gonna be good.

I think the rather deadpan and matter of fact manner he pulls it off makes it even better.
