Russia's not doing too well in its current war with Ukraine. China is probably realising, based on Russian military failure, that any attempt to invade Taiwan would be likely to fail, or be at such a high cost that it would threaten China's stability.
Totally agree Andy with the NATO borders increasing.
But that is temporary and nations can escape from NATO at some point in time as well as join if they desire and are coaxed into it by influences at some point in the future.
Yet that border matters little compared to Ukraine being taken into NATO. Russia will pay the price with borders and manpower even if it become millions of dead.
I believe in Putin's eyes and others in his circle, that is a price worth paying.

Well unless China and Russia decide to start chucking nukes out the pram they are apt to get their arses handed to them in any sort of conventional conflict with NATO or US forces.
awww, you and your wet fantasies.
is Ukraine part of NATO?
is Taiwan part of NATO?
NATO will just sit and watch while USA gets its ass nuked into oblivion. noone really gives a damn about that failure of a state and its warmongering armchair generals.
