So which are your favorites?
I don't really drink soda, juices etc , mostly coffee & water, but I do enjoy ice cold home made drinks.
I remember a drink I once had in a restaurant. I think it was called a 'mint julep' . But what I tried to make today is not the same.
Good , but not the same. Just coconut milk, water, ice cubes, mint leaves & lime juice

I looked online for the recipe , but can't find it. Anyone have suggestions for cold home made drinks ?

I make agua fresca from fresh cucumbers, limes and mint.
Also I squeeze a couple cups of Valencia oranges and mix it in a pitcher with filtered water, and a few tablespoons of organic sugar.

I roast my own coffee beans, and make a large chemex pot full of coffee. I cool it and add milk and sugar, and ice to make iced iced coffee.

We are on roblox. Noenkereken21. And x_legendv123. Getting ready to crash though. Probably be on tomorrow. Catastrophia

Mint and lemon are kind of hard ingredients to work with.

They're aromatics, and too much can make the drink bitter and sharp. The tricky part is making sure all the ingredients come through. Takes a lot of practice and sometimes even with that, the ingredients can be more potent, especially the mint. A lot of the flavor comes from the oil on the outside. Sometimes lime is just really acidic, and others it's fragrant and bright.

To answer your question, one of my favorite summer drinks is iced mint green tea. I've found a loose variety that has mint, green tea, and lemongrass. I only lightly sweeten it, like three tableapoons of raw sugar for a quart. It's one of my favorite teas ever.

Korean Barley Tea BoriCha

It is a very strong almost coffee tasting tea. No sweetness or lightness, but it is absolutely refreshing.

Boil the barley seeds and let cool. Refrigerate overnight and take a swig. It’s also healthy for you.

Lemonade! Damned if I know a recipe but nothing beats a good home made lemonade on a hot summer day. MAYBE a good ice tea but even then I'd probably mix it with lemonade for the classic Arnold Palmer drink.

Cant beat collecting some pine bark and spruce tips, simmer it all down and filter.

Healthy too.

Hugo is always nice and refreshing, it's Prosecco and Elderberry. Normally I do not like sparkling win or prosecco, but in drinks I can live with it.

The name escapes me currently but I recently had a new one, I think it was a "Lustige Linda" "Funny Linda" or something into that direction. Prosecco, vodka, mint leaves, orange and I forgot about the other ingredient. I tried a friend's one and ordered my own. First the prosecco hits the tongue, then the juicy orange and the mint at last.

They all need a sweetener like simple syrup. It's the same as making an actual cocktail.

A great thirst quencher from Germany is the Apfelschörle (awp-fell-shore-lay)

50 / 50 sparkling mineral water and apple juice.

Add ice if you want it colder.

Very good on a summer day.

Cheers

Mojitos are good on a sunny day and they don't need the rum to be refreshing, one thing I've been trying lately is replacing the syrup used in the muddling with flavoured syrups, cherry works great. Pre-mixed sugar water syrup can work in a pinch too...

Homemade ginger ale/beer is always a winner, same with lemonade. A good ol' shandy/lager top is refreshing too. Its lemonade (first) and lager or beer mixed at 50/50 so not too strong especially with a lighter beer, which works better imho.

If it's sugar you really don't like then there's always the possibility of making sodas and juices with low sugar fruits like strawberries or watermelon.

My all time favourite is a good homemade sangria, good way to get rid of cheap bottles of plonk too

Shaking helps too, opens stuff up a bit, mainly fruits though.

Absolutely. Aerating the drink gives it a frothy texture that enhances the flavor.

I'm a weirdo and eat the mint leaves at the bottom of my glass
I didn't use any sweetener nor notice any bitterness? I love the sour tanginess

I like to use my Keurig and brew a pod of Bigelow lemon ginger herbal tea. I just put a glass with ice and it goes directly in there and cools very quickly. It's really nice and refreshing. I don't use sweetener, but a little stevia is fine if you like it a little sweeter.
