The real estate agent thing is particularly suspect. A normal real estate agent does not work that way. Indeed, in some states soliciting for business by canvassing is illegal. Sending a letter is okay, but not physically knocking on the door. I'd take down a license number and call the cops on that one.

Someone probably was scoping out the area for a house in your neighborhood to buy because they figured they were affordable and close to their job so they found a pushy realtor to try to convince you to sell your house. Realtors are going to houses here and trying to talk people into selling their homes....they want big commissions.

I think that is more like what you have going on there.

A realtor even called us to see if we were interested in selling our house...they said they had a buyer....I told her no, she said we can make a bundle...I said no again and told her it will be going to one of my kids when we decide to move or die. Never heard another thing from that pushy realtor...she was a legit realtor too, I recognized the name and the caller ID gave the name and real number of the realtor office, I actually know someone who works with that woman.

Realtors seem to be getting awful pushy these days, not like back in the days when I worked as a real estate salesman.

Could be someone casing your house for a breakin too, but with all the cameras people have, it wouldn't work well, keep some of the video footage of suspicious things.

Neither affordable or close to most workplaces.
Big commissions yes.
