Buzz never said they were being watched.

He said it when he was a guest star on Ancient Aliens,

A direct quote of his exact words would help.

What he will have been referring to is the time that Apollo 11 spotted an object trailing behind them that many have speculated was an alien craft but which was actually a discarded part of the rocket that launched them. He has never said they were being watched by aliens.

Forgive me for wanting to see the video of him saying it, not somebody's years-old memory of once having seen it.

Couldn't find the Ancient Aliens episode (there are 15 seasons), but this is a SyFy one about the Moon and he does say an Unidentified Flying Object. And the next person talks about them talking to the flight doctor and that might be what I was thinking of. It's not Buzz talking on the second clip, tho. Just the first one. But listen to the second one, too.

Yeah Buzz appears on a couple of episodes of Ancient Aliens, but I haven't found either online. I saw the Syfy clip, and that's where he refers to the discarded bit of the launch vehicle. He does refer to it as unidentified in the technical sense of them being not entirely sure what it was, but not in the 'alien spacecraft following us' sense.

The follow up clip where people claim they 'switched to medical channels' (no such thing) and said they were being watched is just a flat out lie.

Buzz Aldrin's full time job is to be Buzz Aldrin and hoover up appearance fees and market his signature. He knows what's expected of him and he delivers, it's how he pays for his nice life. He has never, however, said he was being watched by aliens.

The entire video is full of grifters, scammers and fraudsters (and a healthy mix of the deluded) who are also only interested in the appearance fee and selling you their bs product. Programmes like that weave together lies, fabrications and half truths ('could be', ''looks like', 'what if') into enough material to wrap around advertising revenue. They're disclosing nothing, they're informing no-one, their ambition is not to educate and enlighten, they're just milking money from people and that's all they want to do.

I don't deny the likelihood of alien civilisations, I just deny the claims of people who claim they've had them round for dinner.

Saw an interesting idea the other day in relation to the distant galaxies imaged by the James Webb telescope. It pointed out that any eyes looking in our direction would not be seeing our civilisation, they'd mostly be seeing a sizzling ball of rock on which pond life is still only a distant possibility.

To add a bit more detail on teh 'followed by UFO' thing, this is the only reference at the tme:

Do you have any idea where the S IVB is with respect to us?

Apollo 11, Houston. The S IVB is about 6000 nautical miles from you now. Over.

If there was a private 'medical channel', they could easily have just asked over that rather than ask a cryptic question.

They discussed it in detail in the technical debrief:

www.hq.nasa.gov...

which was declassified in 1971 (handwritten note on the cover).

Aldrin did discuss the flashng panels in the interviews for the SyFy programme, but weirdly, they decided not to include it. Odd that...

Apollo astronauts had a private channel which consisted of tape recorder where astronauts could record message

The recorder could be periodically "dumped" back to mission control stuff did not want to heard on open frequency

Usually recorded medical conditions like space sickness Astronauts would usually make cryptic references to look at the recorder

Skylab did have such a system, I wasn't aware Apollo did also, let me check with Ed Fendell.

Yes there was that method (I think that was how they discussed Frank Borman's space sickness on Apollo 8, but there was no separate 'live' channel to be used in private, and ther could be quite a delay between recording the message and getting it heard on the ground.

The ground had the capability of cutting out other people from the conversation, but it required coordination between people, there was no separate channel. This from the Apollo Flight Journal re-Borman's illness:

history.nasa.gov...

Collins: Roger. We are reading you loud and clear. We are on a private loop now and we would like to get some amplifying details on your medical problems. Could you go back to the beginning and give us a brief recap, please?

The private loop Mike Collins is referring to is on the ground, and is not a special communications frequency to the spacecraft. Several 'loops', or communications channels, exist throughout Mission Control. These loops allow controllers working on a particular function to have a private conversation between themselves and support staff, without having to filter out the chatter of unrelated conversations. Often, controllers would be 'plugged in' to several loops: The Flight Controllers loop, their connection to their SPAN (Spacecraft Analysis) room, and perhaps to another controller.

What's usually inferred by people is that a switch could be turned and secret conversations could be had at the drop of a hat. This wasn't the case. As the press room listened to all the conversations, any gaps would have been obvious. The discussion above was mentioned to the press and its contents broadcast when convenient.

Fendell [who as MCC comm officer for Apollo-11] vaguely recalls exactly such a system, not for secret conversations but for long verbal reports recorded and then later dumped down. It was not something the crew could 'switch to' for non-disclosed conversations.

I've personally never seen anything in the sky I couldn't identify.

My belief is that if anyone puts a little time into star-gazing, you absolutely will see some convincingly alien UFO's, eventually.

I'm 40 and I've seen at least THREE very alien UFO's. (First my family and I saw a silver disc in daytime, when driving. 2nd my family and I were laying down in the grass, star-gazing, we saw a glowing transparent polygonal shape pass by. 3rd I saw a fast nighttime UFO of 2 small lights, one in front of the other, possibly the same object with 2 lights. I was walking and saw it shoot up from the horizon, fly over the whole sky in maybe 10 seconds, and then fade away, like flying into space.)

That's also not even mentioning all the shooting-stars that are visible on a clear night... many seem to take artificial turns, but who knows.

Anyway I think everyone just needs to relax and look at the night sky sometimes. I think you'll end up seeing a few UFO's eventually, if you like to look at the sky.

Did anyone hear about this? LINK NASA Finally Reveals the Truth About Fake Moon Landings

Any truth to this/that???? or more info on it??

Well the YouTube channel seems to be a conservative / Republican troll channel.
www.youtube.com...

And then your news link is a fringe conspiracy site, which is OK (and maybe it's like a blog writing site, I'm not familiar with the site).

But the problem is that the article quotes the YT video from the troll channel, and otherwise just mentions some general moon conspiracies... so I don't see much substance anywhere.

Unless I'm missing it by not watching the vid but the channel just looks like it's all trolling, lol.

So have we reached consensus that the story of Apollo-11 crew reporting being watched by UFOs on the edge of a crater was originally published in a grocery store weekly tabloid newspaper shortly after the landing mission, and then just got further distorted by constant repetition?

Do you believe we went to the moon after watching this video?

You're only told to go to the moon when people don't want you around.

Why at the end of that video is Buzz Aldrin chanelling Joe Biden? Jesus christ, I wouldn't trust him to run a bath!

Poor little girl.

And when you're observing the sky, think of how many times over billions of years and across billions of lifeforms did Earth evolve a species with even basic space faring intelligence and apply that thought into the likelihood of seeing ET piloted UFOs zipping around in the skies rather than actually misidentified objects. It's a sad reality for those diehard believers, but also gives a rational explanation of why we still have no convincing evidence of visitation or even convincing visual evidence and why promoters of this alien tale have no choice but trying their best to turn the lowest form of evidence, eyewitness testimony, into something significant. Nothing wrong with fantasizing as long as you have a firm grip of factual reality.
Shallow cursory thinking gives you UFOs. Deep meaningful thinking makes you question.
As the site says- Deny Ignorance

+1
Also defies logic if there was indeed a gigantic alien spacecraft observing the Apollo 11 landing, why would NASA send subsequent missions to the moon with what may be threatening posturing by ET  and an unknown force?

Batboy has made his rounds for years!
