3 people are fatally shot and 2 injured at an Indiana mall

Three people were fatally shot and two were injured Sunday evening at an Indiana mall after a man with a rifle opened fire in a food court and an armed civilian shot and killed him, police said. The man entered the Greenwood Park Mall with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition and began firing in the food court. Four of those hit by gunfire were females and one was a male.
Greenwood Police Department Chief Jim Ison said, "The real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court and was able to stop the shooter almost as soon as he began." He is a 22 year old from Bartholomew County who was legally carrying a firearm at the mall shot and killed the gunman.

Thanks to the hero 22 year old , who shot and killed the gunman, the death count was limited
He deserves everything great in life & more

And, indeed a great way to promote legal gun ownership

Yu are the keeper of your brother. Even in death.

The murdering asshole gets to meet god, the surviving shooter awaits judgement from people and a life time of remembrance of this day.

I dont ever think in stories like this we ever get to onow the truth. Its always something.

A video on utube showed that a liberal news agency was condemning the hero for having a gun in the mall. The video was taken down by utube

Whoops, there goes that narrative "good guys with guns are never around"?

This happened a 1/2 mile from my house.
Let there be no mistake, the "Good Samaritan" is being praised and hailed as a hero.
This is a pretty conservative area just fyi.
A LOT of good people carry here.

I have been to that mall before, unarmed, and peacefully.

I am glad this was not allowed to 'escalate' and that a good man with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun this time.

The death toll no doubt could have been much higher....
